Eden WTDI World Tour Bass DI Preamp Pedal
With the Eden WTDI World Tour Bass DI Preamp Pedal, Eden has managed to distill the essence of their tone into a handy little direct box/preamp. Now the masses of bassists who have called for Eden tone in a compact package finally got their wish! Much more than a direct box, the WTDI World Tour is like bringing a little Eden preamp to every stage and studio gig. Its compact size makes it easy to carry in a gigbag or case. Use it to Edenize that junk box of an amp they gave you for backline at the gig by going direct into the power amp section. Use the WTDI to add a 2nd, 3rd or solo/boost channel to your current rig. Also works extremely well with acoustic guitars and basses.
The Eden WTDI bass preamp features true bypass and both 1/4 inch and XLR (with ground lift) outputs. Besides 3 bands of tone control with bass boost and mid shift switches, volume and gain, Eden has added variable compression and their legendary enhance control. All this comes in a box no more than 2 x 4.75 x 3.5 inches! The WTDI World Tour comes complete with universal power adapter and runs on most 12-18 volt capable pedal boards and power cubes.

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
| So here is my complaint, there is a major nuisance with the bypass switch. Everytime you hit it, it sends a nasty click through the rig. I ordered another one, thinking it's a defect, but same story. I checked around on Talkbass and it was mentioned there as well.
Kudos on the overall design, but this click makes the bypass switch useless during live settings unless you turn down the amp first before you switch.
I wrote Eden about it and they were like "and what's your point?"
So I am keeking it for the killer sound, and leave it on all the time. |

What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
The sound and tones you can achieve with this unit is astounding, specially for the price. I have used many outboard amps/DI boxes and this one is a keeper

How is its Tone?
Mind bogling awesome. It has the Eden sound. Way cool. Range is fantastic.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?

Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
I bought it to turn my passive Jazz Bass into a funk machine. I have tried several outboard amps now and the WTDI packs the best sound and tone by a wide margin. It doesn't just boost the sound like some others, with the WTDI you can shape your sound quite a bit so you can play anything from R&B to Funk to Rock to Jazz.
