Watts and Tube Mix Knobs
The scalable WATTS control takes the Rebel 20 anywhere from 1 to 20 watts, so you can dial in rich, responsive tube tone at any volume level. The watts control knob makes it easy to go from the studio to the stage. The professional-grade effects loop is designed to preserve every ounce of your precious tone. But the real star here is the revolutionary TUBE MIX control which blends American and British tone in real time with the twist of a knob. This knob lets you dial in the rich American tones of the 6V6 power tubes, the British-style bark and chime of the EL84s, or to blend them for an endless variety of sounds. So resist convention, buck authority and create your own signature tone with the Rebel 20.
Premier Guitar Review, December 2008
Like Egnater’s ideas, the quality is also first class—it’s built like a little tiny tank—and his team has earned a reputation for taking care of their customers and their business. Unless you’re a one-amplifier kind of player, and you love that one above all others, it’s very difficult for me to see any reason why you wouldn’t go for one of these. This is paradigm-changing gear.

|
| There's just no bad sound in the Rebel 20 |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| Have only had this amp for a couple of weeks. Dependability remains to be seen. Rebel 20 seems solidly constructed. I use it on stage weekly but do have backup for right now. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| Haven't had it long enough to judge but barring unforseen manufacturing problems I would expect it to hold up well. As stated before I gig weekly and I take care of my equipment so..... |
|
| General |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| Very well thought out design. I love the cabinet design. Controls laid out intuitively. Real toggle on/off and standby instead of cheesy plastic rocker switches, I like that. |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| It's small and light. Controls easy to use. |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| Bright and snappy, dark and smooth, clean, crunch, metal. To my ears there isn't a bad tone or sound in this amp. Very tweakable. Fun to play with as far as finding new tones. Single coils or humbuckers, I'm happy. I used to call my Mesa Blue Angel the holy grail of blues tone. Now it's definately the Rebel 20. I can see the possible lack of clean headroom at only 20 watts. Guess what? Back in the day the only way to get "the tone" was by crankin'a 20 watt Deluxe past seven. Get it? The wattage knob tames the volume a bit, but 1 watt is enough to drive your avg. 12' speaker to 100dbs. If ya' need more headroom get a Rebel 30. Again, I have not found a bad sound in this tiny amp. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| I love the tolex combination and general esthetics of this amp. The logo is a bit large, so what. Bruce is proud and should be. Pop it off if ya' don't like it. |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| This amp has seen non-stop action since out of the box. |
