Epiphone El Capitan IV Acoustic Electric Bass Guitar

The Epiphone El Capitan IV Acoustic Electric Bass should be a part of EVERY Bass Players arsenal. The great thing about the Acoustic Electric bass is that you can practice without an amp. Work on your tone acoustically then plug you bass into an amp. You will experience the fat, punchy tone that every player desires. The best of both the electrical and acoustical worlds come together in these basses from Epiphone. The El Capitan has a bound Maple body, 34 inch scale set Maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and chrome hardware. The versatile Epiphonic-six pickups provide tone every bit as good, if not better than the bass on its own! This instrument will cover Rock, Bluegrass, Jazz, Polka, you name it!

Quality: I have always and will always love Epiphone (I've owned at elast one for the last twelve years or so). For the price they are unbeatable.
Features: The onboard tuner works. The preamp is plenty adequate. But it's acoustic so there isn't much going on.
Sound: Acoustically it sounds amazing. When playing with an acoustic guitarist you may want to use a pick if you're a fingerpicker like me. Plugged in to my 1x12 combo I don't really enjoy the sound, it seems a bit "muddy" but when plugged into my head and cabinet it sounds like a beast with great thundering lows.
Playability and Feel: It plays amazingly well. For my hands the neck is more than fast enough. People with smaller hands or those used to a very fast, thin neck may feel differently but the neck is thinner than my Thunderbird's though not as thin as my ESP B series. I will warn you that this is a large instrument, think a thicker auditorium guitar.
Tone: unplugged: Rich and full, good highs and lows. plugged in: to a single speaker muddy, to a multi speaker enclosure rumbling, rumbling, rumbling and smooth like butter
Finish: Very nice finish, I think it suits the instrument nicely.
Action: The action was nice but there were a couple frets loose. After running it to the guitar shop (a good practice with every new instrument I believe) it was up and playing like a dream.
