General
Your general opinion of this product.
I ordered this from the "Dent 'n Scratch" list. There was maybe one tiny blemish in the finish of the top. the other thing I see is that the outside edge of the guitar is not as red as I'd expected, it's more of a dark brownish orange. It's almost as if the factory forgot a step in the staining process. However, it's still the most beautiful guitar I've ever owned. Besides, the cosmetics didn't affect the playability at all.
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Solid Sitka spruce top and jumbo body size makes for a big reverberating sound. Not as big as a Martin, but it's still satisfying to pluck the low E string and feel the top vibrate. The tuners are Grovers. Setup was perfect out of the box--no need to adjust.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Neck suits me. Action was perfect out of the box. Controls are in the soundhole. My most negative observation is placement of the battery. It's in a little velcro bag at top of sound hole, under end of fretboard. I had to pull all the strings off to get at it. That would be most inconvenient at a gig.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Tone: nice full tone. If you're expecting it to sound like a high-end Martin, you'll be disappointed. But it's pretty loud with no amplification. The Fishman Sonic Core electronic package seems to work well. I was able to use the guitar at church without any hassle.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action out of the box required no adjusments
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
As I said previously, mine looks more orange than red. Maybe that's why it was sold as dent 'n scratch. One barely noticeable blemish on the top. Other than that perfect. Lots of nice detail in the binding, and the inlay in the bridge and fretboard are a nice touch.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Just got it, can't comment.
