| Subject: | Great guitar for the price |
| Quality:
| For the price of this guitar you can't go wrong. FOR THE PRICE THIS IS A GOOD GUITAR. Buy it |
| Sound:
| It has a great jumbo tone. The sustain is average but good. It outsounds my other acoustic guitars. For the price a great sound.
Be sure to change the strings when you get it. the factory string are not very good. |
| Reliability:
| I have had this guitar for over a year now and it has stood up well to traveling. It seems like I am going to have it a long time. I have several guitars and I will walk by them to get to this one because that is the tone that I want. |
| Overall:
| A very good jumbo for people on a budget. Great sound. Nice looking guitar. I bought the sunburst and it is beautiful. It took my breath away when I took it out of the box. I've played more expensive guitars that I didn't really like. But then again I have played cheaper guitars that I didn't like. This one was a pleasant suprise. For the price you are not going to find a lower priced jumbo that will satisfy. I used to be a Gibson snob. Epiphone has taken quality a step further. You could maybe say it's a generic Gibson that you will like. |
| Playability and Feel:
| Action is good out of the box. It plays well. The neck is good and fast. Not to thick..not to thin just right for me. This is a jumbo so it might not feel right at first. But you grow into it |
| Tone:
| The tone is another thing I would like to stess. Is it as good as the $3000 guitars.......no. Is it adequate.......YES. FOR THE PRICE THIS IS A GOOD GUITAR. |
| Finish:
| This is the one that I want to stress. In another review it said that the guitar was ugly. Mine is beautiful. I looked it over very closely when I bought it. I will say it again........It took my breath away when I opened the box. It hangs on the wall just daring me to play it. |
| Action:
| Action is good out of the box. Fairly low. I will say it again....change the strings |

| Subject: | Great sound...Horrible finish/details |
| Quality:
| The body construction seems good. Epiphone just tried to dress it up with very low quality and poorly assembled add-ons |
| Sound:
| Beautiful. Warm and rich with lots of resonance and sustain. |
| Reliability:
| We'll see. |
| Overall:
| This is a great guitar if you can't see. Sounds great, but looks awful. If you are buying this guitar for the looks, keep looking. The detailing is glaringly cheap and becomes the focus of attention when looking at it. |
| Playability and Feel:
| Its a jumbo, so it feels a little awkward at first if you're used to a standard size. |
| Tone:
| Very warm. On par with a jumbo |
| Finish:
| The binding on this guitar is pathetic. I can't believe this was passed off as acceptable. It looks like the headstock inlay was cut out with childrens scissors and the fretboard is very rough and almost seems unfinished. The pickguard was peeling off out of the box. |
| Action:
| Seemed good to me. Again, i'll have to see if it needs adjustment. |

| Subject: | Who needs to spend $3,000 on an acoustic????? |
| Quality:
| Very good construction. The best of materials for a guitar
in this price range. If something were to happen to it, I
would replace it immediately. |
| Sound:
| To die for!!! Whether sitting around the campfire, or live
on stage, this baby will project. My ONLY complaint is that
the sound hole is a bit small for the big rubber plug you
can by to keep if from feeding back. I'll have to engineer
something to make up for this. |
| Reliability:
| I bought it two years ago from AMS, and it has held up amazingly well. I expect it to age well, and be as beautiful
in 20 years as it was when it came out of the box. |
| Overall:
| This is the third EJ-200 I have owned. The first two were
the first non-electric non cutaway models. This is by far
the best, and my favorite acoustic guitar I've ever owned.
(and I've owned over 240 guitars in my life) This eats them alive. |
| Playability and Feel:
| Excellent playablility, after I tweaked it. The feel is great. If feels like the QUALITY instrument that it is.
I have played the Gibson version, and I actually like the neck on this baby better. |
| Tone:
| The tone is what you want to get out of it, and you do that
with the onboard pre-amp. I have been able to come up with
any usefull sound and tone I can think of. |
| Finish:
| The finish is absolutely gorgeous!!! Never seen a prettier
one in my life. |
| Action:
| Truthfully, the action wasn't the best. But I put on a set
of light guage Marquis bronze, tweaked the truss rod about
half a turn clockwise, and that's all it needed. |
