The Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plain Top is an affordable version of the axe that’s been thrashed by everyone from Jimmy Page to Slash. This model is all about the rock, with a solid mahogany body, maple top and glued-in mahogany neck supplying the perfect blend of tone, comfort and understated cool. A pair of Alnico Classic humbuckers supply the muscle, and the trusty tune-o-matic/stop bar combination ensures it can take the punishment as well as dish it out.
Lock Tone
The Lock Tone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece are standard equipment on all Epiphone guitars with a tune-o-matic setup. From their Custom Les Pauls right down to the Special II, Epiphone knows that tuning stability and sustain can make or break a guitar so it’s important to have a dependable bridge you can trust.

| Beautiful and amazing. |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| I consider this to be a very well made product that is very much dependable. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you how it stood up over time because mine was stolen from me. |
|
| Overall |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| This is the closest that you can get to a Gibson without having to fork out the extra cash. |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| This guitar feels very balanced and the neck is of great quality. You can really play up and down the neck of this guitar. The controls were a little farther than I wanted them to be while playing, but that is just a minor inconvenience for what you get. |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| The tone on this guitar is very balanced, but you can easily adjust between the guitar and amplifier to quickly get the tone you would like out of it. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| The finish was perfect and everything that I wanted in a guitar. |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| Action right out of the box was perfect for me, but that doesn't say much for the other individuals out there. |
