Epiphone ES333 Tom Delonge Signature Electric Guitar

The Epiphone Tom DeLonge Signature ES-333 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar is the signature model of Tom DeLonge of Blink 182 and Angels & Airwaves fame, making this axe is the perfect weapon to carry into the battlefields of pop punk. When DeLonge appeared in 2003 with a new signature model, there were two questions on the lips of every punk fan around the world.

What the hell is that? And how the hell do I get one?

As it turned out, DeLonge was rocking his new Gibson ES-333 – a customized version of the company’s classic semi-hollow design, finished in retro paint, and equipped with one Dirty Fingers humbucker and a single volume control for maximum punk kudos. With DeLonge hailed as the most exciting guitarist of the new millennium, it was no surprise when his ES-333 went into production as a Gibson signature model, complete with all the premium features demanded by the man himself.

Everybody knows that Epiphone is the only luthier licensed to build official versions of Gibson models. And at the 2008 Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, punk fans were in for the thrill of their lives, as the Tom DeLonge ES-333 made its world debut with Epiphone’s name on the headstock. It’s got the same cool vibe. It’s got the same great features. And if you loved All The Small Things, you’ll love the small price.

The Epiphone Tom DeLonge ES-333 is a stunner from top to toe. As specified by the Blink 182 legend, you’ve got a cutaway maple and birch body with twin f-holes, finished in brown with a cool racing stripe. There’s a set mahogany neck with Slim-Taper profile, so you can pull off the lightning-fast rhythm work that is DeLonge’s specialty, and a smooth rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets. When it comes to hardware, meanwhile, you won’t find anything more reliable than the die-cast Grover tuners and the combination of a LockTone tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece.

Some guitars have so many dials and pickups that you lose count. So it’s refreshing that the Epiphone Tom DeLonge ES-333 has just one of each – with the same legendary USA-made Dirty Fingers bridge humbucker that featured on the Gibson original and an intuitive volume dial to control how hard it bites.

The new Epiphone Tom DeLonge Signature ES-333 made its debut at the 2008 Winter NAMM show.

Subject:Disappointed
Quality: I won't buy anything from Epiphone ever again.
Sound: The tone is okay, with only a volume knob there's not much contro of the to9ne overall.
Reliability: I didn't like the guitar at all when I got it. But I thought I just needed to play it a little more and get used to it.I was wrong, everytime I pick it up to play I regret purchasing it.
Overall: This guitar is sturdy and that's the only thing I can say on it's behalf. It's like a pumped up version of the junk you but at Wal-Mart
Playability and Feel: the neck seemed a little wider than most.It plays like a $100.00 Wal-Mart toy guitar.
Tone: The tone is bright and heavy. I adjusteded my amp for an hour trying to find a tone I was happy with but I think I'd rather sell this piece and get something else.
Finish: I admit it's a sharp looking guitar. If only it sounded as good as it looks....
Action: The action is too high.Strings buzz way too much.

Subject:awesome guitar!
Quality: EXCELLENT. a very solid built guitar. first high quality Epiphone i've owned. feels nothing like the cheaper Epi's. Grover tuners are nice and smooth and stay in tune very well.
Reliability: N/A
Overall: great quality guitar for the money. sounds just like Tom's guitar. plays like a much more expensive guitar. great for anyone who's a blink-182 or Angels & Airwaves fan. action is set nice and low and intonation is set from the factory. excellent sustain and it sounds great clean, distorted, and with effects. i haven't played the Gibson version but don't waste your money...this is a high quality instrument that does Tom Delonge justice. THIS GUITAR ROCKS!!!!
Playability and Feel: the neck has a different feel than most of my guitars but i like it. single volume knob is as simple as it gets.
Tone: Gibson Dirty Fingers is amazing! it doesn't sound muddy distorted like many other pickups. it has a nice tone clean, distorted, and with effects.
Finish: matte brown finish with cream racing stripe. this is the only guitar i have with a matte finish..its a little different but i like it. seems like it would scratch easily so be careful.
Action: nice and low with no fret buzz. intonation set from factory. just tune it up and start playing!

Subject:Best Guitar Ever!!
Quality: Great Quality, hardware is great and stays in tune. i have a tom delonge fender and the hardware sucks.
Reliability: I haven’t had it for that long, but this guitar is going to last me a lifetime.
Overall: I was a little skeptical at first, because I am a name brand person. (Gibson) When I saw that Epiphone was doing this signature model I thought I would be a cheap guitar with bad hardware. But I was wrong and it’s not cheap at all. I love this guitar.
Playability and Feel: The tapered neck makes this guitar awesome and easy to play. Only one knob to worry about and sounds great.
Tone: when playing clean you get great sound out of this, and the dirty fingers make distortion a dream. Great tone.
Finish: I love the look of this guitar, one of a kind. Finish looks amazing.
Action: tune it, and its ready to go.
