The Epiphone Goth Explorer is based upon Gibson's very successful Gothic line. The Epiphone Goth Explorer features a satin-black finish and black hardware for an absolutely wicked look. Add to that, a roman numeral XII inlay on the 12th fret, a Celtic Cross on the headstock and Alnico Classic Humbuckers, and you've got guitars guaranteed to wake the dead! KillPot on the tone control allows you to momentarily 'kill' the sound for great effects. Features Epiphone's Limited Lifetime warranty.
Lock Tone
The Lock Tone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece are standard equipment on all Epiphone guitars with a tune-o-matic setup. From their Custom Les Pauls right down to the Special II, Epiphone knows that tuning stability and sustain can make or break a guitar so it’s important to have a dependable bridge you can trust.

|
| $400 vs. $2400? |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| Well, had a lot of "neck-dive", and the strap button out of the "horn" (neck area NOT rear of body) fell out within 10 minutes of playing! Luckily, I had my hand on the neck and caught it before it hit the floor. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| Haven't had it long enough to tell, but I assume it will be just fine. |
|
| General |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| Really nice guitar overall. Had some issues, made some adjustments, bet WELL worth the money! I couldn't afford the Gibson, and for the price difference, and the DiMarzios, not sure I would spend the money for the Gibson. Maybe if I was a rock star... |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| I relocated the strap button, and got rid of the "neck dive", it plays wonderfully! Not as heavy as I expected, very fast, neck is really smoooooooth! |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| With the DiMarzios, this thing screams! Great crunch, crisp highs, and sustain for days! More sustain than I know what to do with! |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| No issues there. Looks great! |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| Too high, had some fret buzz, had to sand a few frets down, and adjust the neck a bit. Now, it is awesome! |
