Epiphone PR5E Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar

The Epiphone PR5E Acoustic Electric offers the ultimate in playability, great looks, rich tone & tone control. The PR5E features high-quality woods, a deep Florentine cutaway, a remarkable Electar Labs Active Equalizer and Pre-amp with a piezo pickup. Select woods include a spruce top (with hand-trimmed bracing), mahogany back & sides, a solid mahogany slim-taper neck (1.68 inch at the nut), a rosewood fretboard and rosewood bridge.

The sharp Florentine cutaway provides easy access to all 21 frets. The preamp features 3-band EQ, an 800-2000 Hz Frequency Control for eliminating feedback and a 1/4 inch output. The PR5E also includes an external 9V battery compartment and gold diecast machine heads.

About Epiphone Guitar
Epiphone's passion has always been about more than just making guitars. It has been about making music. It has been about understanding what is inside every musican that makes them want to, have to, express themselves. And understanding the myriad musical styles, where they are going and how they might develop. For over one hundred and twenty-five years they have continually looked for new and better ways to help players take their music farther.

Overall: I purchased my PR-5E about a year ago, and it was one of the last Wine colored ones AMS carried.....I am submitting this review in the NATURAL category, but, it is the exact same instrument...superior quality thru and thru, and, you can bet you will get years of service out of it....highly recommended from a 25 year pro player !!

Subject:Great working Guitar on a budget
Quality: For an import guitar construction is solid, and inspected in USA. Although had to take it to a local guitar tech for set up, out of box action to high and truss rod needed adjusting.
Reliability: Have not had it long, bought it to do occasional acoustic shows, so far so good
Overall: For the money a nice guitar.
Playability and Feel: It's easy to play lead solos on the smaller neck with great upper access. Onboard preamp with tuner a plus
Tone: The preamp sounds clean and sparkly, even response across strings with pickup
Finish: Finish work 8 out of 10, minor flaws in detail work & finish
Action: Terrible!!
