| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| I think that my Epi is very well made, and I've been happy with it for many years, other than the original pick ups. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| I've had it over since new, well over 10 years, and it's finally showing some degradation in the gold plating. Other than that the guitar is still excellent. |
|
| Overall |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| A great guitar for the money, plays extremely well.Finish was excellent.Have owned it for years. |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| It feels light and comfortable to play, just a bit neck heavy, but it becomes natural with time. The neck took a bit of getting used to,but any guitar feels strange when it's new to you. The controls are pretty much where you'd expect them to be on this guitar,so I was comfortable with it from gitgo. The original jack was "loose" so the plug would back out on occasion. That was changed out early on. |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| The tone from the original pick ups was never really pleasing to me. The neck pick up was okay, fairly mediocre response. The bridge p/u was terrible. Too weak, thin,no guts. The Duncans brought this from back up guitar to main guitar. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| I have the natural finish, and still think it's one of the nicest looking guitars I've ever seen. |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| The action was super right out of the box. I use extremely light strings, and get no buzzing or tuning problems. |
