Overall Rating
Nothing Short of Incredible
What is your overall opinion of this product?
ESP/LTD really outdid themselves this time.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
I play for a progressive/melodic metal band. This beast was built to shred. The neck is super fast and slim. The clarity of these pickups is truly unparalleled, even in really high gain/drive channels. That being said, the clean tones are unreal. Absolutely beautiful in all 6 of the pick up settings with and with out coil-tap.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
This guitar is surprisingly light. But dont let that fool you. this thing will hold a note for days. the sustain is quite impressive. As i mentioned, the neck is crazy thin, fast and smooth. It's well balanced from headstock to tail and the floyd rose trem is easily accessed while playing, without slipping away, and will dive bomb/pull all the way back without falter.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
The one word that will give it justice is clarity. The jazz pickups are phenomenal and there's so many different tones just by coil-tapping and switching between neck/bridge pickups. The tones range from really bright to pretty dark and heavy. There's a chugging even on the 4th string palm muted.
How did the stain or paint job look?
Beautiful. I love the stain and the ebony fretboard is a solid black and looks awesome. It was hard to find a strap that would equal it's beauty.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
I got way more than what i expected. I knew it was going to be an incredible instrument...i just wasn't prepared for how right i was.
How was the action out of the box?
Right out of the box, it was in tune, pristine, and ready to shred. The action was great and the pickups were setup great for immediate clarity and tone.
