ESP LTD H1001 Electric GuitarWith a gorgeous quilted maple top, the ESP LTD H1001 electric guitar not only rocks but looks great
at it too. The ESP H1001 features a set-thru 3-piece maple neck, mahogany body and a rosewood
fretboard. The thin U-shaped neck with 24 extra jumbo frets provides comfort and speed. An EMG 81
pickup at the bridge and an 85 at the neck provide plenty of power and note definition. Grover tuners
and a string-thru-body bridge keep you tuned and intonated, so you'll sound your best. Volume, tone and
a 3-way toggle give you options with simplicity. Black hardware, offset abalone block inlays and white
with abalone purfling finish off a great look.
Set-thru neck construction is an innovative technique in which the neck is glued to the body (like a
set neck), however the traditional bulky heel is carved away (similar to neck-thru-body construction).
This makes access to the LTD H1001's upper frets and the neck-to-body transition much smoother. Just as
on a set neck, you will get a combination of tone from both the neck and body with the set-thru
construction. The sound will depend on the types of wood used, but generally will have a fuller, warmer
tone when compared to most neck-thru-body guitars.

ESP gains attention as a reputable provider of high-quality replacement parts. ESP also begins crafting the first complete guitars under the ESP and Navigator brand names for the Japan market.
1983
ESP replacement parts for electric guitars and basses are introduced to the US market.

The ESP and LTD-brand signature models include custom guitars played by James Hetfield of Metallica, Stephen Carpenter of Deftones, Jeff Hanneman of Slayer, Alexi Laiho of Children of Bodom, Wayne Static of Static X and many others.
