Heck of a guitar.

Quality:

ESP's quality control has always been spot on for me. While I wouldn't/SHOULDN'T gig without a backup, I have done so twice with this guitar and it hasn't failed me. It's the first guitar I've owned that hasn't crapped out on me live in some way, so one could definitely say that it's a reliable beast.

Sound:

Mine came with active SD blackouts. Through my 6505+, the sound is crushing. This is my first 'high end' guitar, and it sounds like it.

Reliability:

I bought it used. The serial number would have me believe that it's 5 years old. It stays perfectly in tune, frets have remained level, and it doesn't complain at all.

Overall:

If you can find one used, you'll be set for a long time.

Playability and Feel:

For a painted-over neck, it's quite fast. I wouldn't dare say it's faster than my Ibanez, nor thinner, but it's a bit better. Consider it a comparison between an anorexic and normal sized model. I, personally, am not into anorexic models, so it worked for me. Shredheads may beg to differ. However, one should note: It's quite easy to accidentally bop the volume knob when grabbing the trem arm. That might pose a problem for some. Other than that, the other knob and the three-way selector are fine. The guitar itself is relatively heavy, coming from someone who is used to basswood bodies. However, that's not an entirely bad thing. It's certainly not Gibson/Epiphone heavy, but it's not Ibanez light either. It's down to taste, but I rather enjoy it.

Tone:

I play through a 6505+, so my tone is inherently darker than say, a Marshall or a Fender. The pickups were like how I like my women: hot and smooth. They were simultaneously in-your-face and restrained. I play technical metalcore, and they were quite suited for the task. For jazzy-type work, they functioned very well, but due to the output, broke up very early. If you're looking for a single coil type sound, you're not going to find that here. This guitar likes the heavy, and the tonewoods and pickups are geared to it.

Finish:

Looks green in some lights, purple in others, black in still others. Good think I like all those colors. It looks sexy as all get out though. It's a guitar that catches the eye.

Action:

Wouldn't know. When I bought it though, it was just right.
