| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| I've had the guitar for almost 2 years now. It's still in great shape. I play it a lot. The woods are good. EMG pickups, which you can't beat. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| I've played the guitar a lot. Scalloped the neck. I have it tuned down to Bb. It still plays great. It's my favorite guitar. |
|
| General |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| I think this is a very good quality guitar, especially for the price. I've had the guitar for a couple years. I play it a lot. I took the time to write this because I think ESP made a great guitar that affordable. It really does not get any better if you like metal for this price. |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| This guitar is comfortable. It's shaped very ergonically. No rough corners. It's neck-through so no heel joint. There's an extra cutaway on the bottom horn for easier access to the high notes. Neck is thin but not the thinnest. I don't like thin necks. I feel this could have been even a bit more round. But not too bad. Definitely will not impede anything and there's enough to grab to make bending comfortable. I don't have mine set up with low action. This guitar has some weight to it, which I prefer. It's like a les paul w/emg tone in a strat style body. Pretty sick. |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| This is the best part of the guitar. It's mahogany. Neck through. Maple veneer. Rosewood fretboard. EMG p/u's. This thing sounds amazing. It's the perfect combination of wood and pickups. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| Stain on this looks awesome. Very smooth. Very deep. The wood look great through the red. People always compliment me on this guitar. |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| The action was great. I don't think I changed it. I just scalloped the neck. Ha! It plays great. I'm sure that it could be set to whatever you like. |
