Subject:ALOT OF BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!
Quality: This guitar is made just as well as any Gibson or Music Man I own. Ive looked this thing over with a fine tooth comb trying to find flaws, but there just arent any, at least so far. The only thing I would change is I would add an easy access compartment for the 9v battery. The current one has two screws holding the plate on...not too handy if you need to change it in a hurry.
Sound: The EMG's sound big and mean. Great harmonics, squeals, great for the type of music I play which is 80s to new rock. The neck pup adds that warm tone for sweet sounding leads. When playing clean, you get some breakup, but if you back off the volume about 1/4 turn, it cleans up very nice.
Reliability: I just got it today, but it feels like a quality instrument. Mahogany body, not too heavy, not too light, seems very well built.
Overall: I have been playing for 36 years. Usually I dont buy something without playing it first...I tried that with the Dean MAB1, and was very disappointed. When I saw the ESP MH-1000, I did my homework, and decided to give this one a try. I am NOT disappointed! I have mostly high end Gibsons, and this guitar is just as good. The cosmetics are outstanding, and the transparent blue is beautiful. I kinda wish it had an unfinnished neck, but i'm used to my Gibsons, so no big deal.
Playability and Feel: Very well balanced and comfortable. Super fast neck, the volume knob is in the perfect location, and the body contour makes it very comfortable for your arm. I did install a floyd rose tremolo stabilizer, and added an EVH D-Tuna Drop D tuner, and strap locks. Those are a great addition for an already great guitar.
Tone: THe tone is very big and smooth. The pups are very hot, but have a good amount of bottom to them. Plus, the mahognay body adds to that also, and increases the sustain, which is also awesome.
Finish: I love the Abalone...It really sets it off. The quilted maple top is beautiful, and the transparent blue finish only makes it look better. I cant believe it is Korean made. Very high Quality.
Action: When I opened the box, the high E string was broken. I was gonna replace the strings anyhow, and after I did, I was amazed to find that the Floyd Rose was perfectly set up for 10 guage strings...It lay perfectly parallel to the body. Usually they are all screwed up and require a bit of time to get them right. But this one was set correctly. I did take some of the bow out of the neck, and I lowered the Floyd a little, and now it plays great. Very fast, very little buzz, just plain great!

Subject:Great guitar for a great price
Quality: Extremely well made instrument. The only issue I had was a slightly buzzing low E string which I solvved with a simple adjustment. All joints, fasteners and hardware are excellent quality.
Reliability: Just recieved this, but I do have an ESP LTD EC-400 I purchased 5 or 6 years ago that has seen some serious live abuse and has held up perfectly. As far as this guitar, I would trust it for a show, but no guitar is safe enough not to bring a back-up.
Overall: I am very pleased with this much guitar for this little price. The features and materials on this guitar rival some of my instruments costing 2 - 3 times the price!
Playability and Feel: The extra jumbo frets and the large cut-out make this guitar easy to access the high notes. The neck is very fast and comforatable (I am 6'4 and have large hands, but still have no trouble with this guitar). The Floyd Rose (once you are used to it) holds the tuning even in the most extreme playing.
Tone: Every guitar has a purpose in life. The purpose of this one isn't to play country or mimic a hollowbody Gibson. What it does do is take your lead playing to another level. The pickups (being active) are hot and noiseless. I use this as a support Rythmn and main lead instument for Rock/Metal and it fulfills that role perfect.
Finish: I went with the Snow White finish which helps "tone down" the abalone all over the guitar. The paint shows no imperfections and all joints are well finished. The only thing I would have liked is a matching headstock, but I can live with this finish for the price difference :)
Action: Very low action out of the box. A little out of tune, but that is to be expected considering the trip / hardware. I did have to raise the low E due to a slight buzz, but other than that and a tuning, this this was ready to take to a gig!
