ESP LTD MH400NT Non Tremolo Electric GuitarThe ESP LTD MH400NT Electric Guitar is absolutely packed with features.
For starters, this is a set neck instrument with a quilted maple top and EMG humbuckers. Killer, right? Well there's more. The NT is built with the innovative Earvana Compensated Nut for more exact intonation and tuning across the neck. Its Set-Thru neck joint gives you the look and feel of a neck-thru design, with the warmth and true wood tone of a set neck. It's glassy-smooth and extremely comfortable. Other features include that awesome quilted top, a mahogany body, a 3-piece maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard (extra jumbo frets), a Tune-o-matic bridge with string-thru-body, black nickel hardware including Grover tuners, and cool, offset neck inlays. It's a lot of guitar for the money.
Earvana Compensated Nut
ESP is proud to feature Earvana's innovative nut, which compensates each guitar string's length for more exact intonation across the neck. Your guitar will now be in tune wherever you finger a chord - and you will have achieved earvana.
Grover Tuners
High-quality Grover tuning machines are well known for their precise gear ratio, tuning stability and durability. They make a great complement to the other upscale features of ESP's 400-level instruments.
Double Action Truss Rods
All ESP/LTD guitars and basses feature a double-action truss rod design. Unlike a normal (single) truss rod, this one is adjustable in two different directions. This means that you’ll never run into a situation where the neck has run out of adjustment. Regardless of which ESP model you choose, you’ll get years and years of playing enjoyment.
EMG Pickups
There truly is no comparison between active EMG's and conventional pickups. EMG's frequency response is shaped much differently. Conventional pickups typically exhibit a dry peaky frequency response, while EMG's have a much broader bandwidth that's better for harmonic pull-offs and chord definition. Individual notes have better presence and are dynamic. Playing styles are more pronounced and different techniques can be easily accommodated.
EMG-81
The EMG-81 is a high output pickup designed especially for the lead guitarist. The 81 is at its best for high volume overdrive and amps with a master volume. Whether you're playing power rock and roll, or overdriving your amp, there's a razor sharp attack, and incredible sustain for brilliant soloing. When you're looking for exceptional qualities in a rock pickup, the EMG-81 is the one.

QUALITY: This is an AWESOME guitar. A friend at work has a few ESP's and he turned me on to them. I figured with the EZ payment plan and the 45 day trial, I had nothing to lose. When I opened the box I was really surprised. I have read other reviews that say the guitar looks purple, or other shades other than black, but mine looks black; or at the very least a very dark grey/charcoal color. With the quilt top, it looks like dark clouds on the night sky. It's well made, seems solid, sounds great, looks great and in my mind, it's a lot of guitar for the money. I can't find anything I don't like about this guitar.
FEATURES: The best features are everything. A Tone Pros locking bridge would be nice, but there is nothing wrong with the stock bridge. The EMG 85/81 combo is great (I mostly use the 85), and the neck is thin and fast. Fret work is very good, and I have been shocked by some of the fret jobs on guitars I have seen hanging in music shops lately. |
