Product Description

Fender's American Vintage '69 Telecaster Thinline electric guitar captures one of the most experimental and evolutionary steps taken from the rich history of Telecaster. In 1969, the Fender Thinline Telecaster was valued by players for its distinctive sound, created by the revolutionary hollowed-out and lightweight design.

The authentic 60’s detailing of the American Vintage ’69 includes the “top hat” pickup switch tip and vintage-style “F” tuners. The American Vintage ’69 Telecaster is made with a semi-hollow mahogany body with f-hole, c-shape 21-fret maple neck and gloss lacquer finish.

The Fender American Vintage ’69 Thinline Electric Guitar also includes a black Tolex case, polish cloth, 8 foot cable, strap, bridge cover and six-saddle replacement bridge.

The Real Deal!
What is your overall opinion of this product?
The guitar overall is awesome.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
I can play anything from snappy country twang to mellow blues. The tone feild is great!
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
I love the weight and feel of the guitar. The only thing I've had to deal with is the sticky feeling of the laquer on the back of the neck. I found a heavy wax and polish helps. I'm really trying to avoid the steel wool treatment on such a nice instrument.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
The tone is beautiful! The vintage pickups are friendly to the ear. The tone control will allow you snappy Tele sounds to warm vintage ES335 type sounds.
How did the stain or paint job look?
The neck has a beautiful vintage tint and the two tone sunburst over the mahogony is breathtaking!
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
I am very pleased with my purchase. Compared to previous guitars, this will probably be my "go to" axe for sure.
How was the action out of the box?
The action was great right out of the box however, I like it close! I did change the vintage 3 saddle bridge to the 6 saddle and lower the action. The thing is just sweet now. To each his own. I make every guitar "mine".
