Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar is definitely the hot rod of the new American series!
The American Standard Strat HSS electric guitar boasts more output and warmth thanks to its Neck and Middle positioned Tex Mex single-coil pickups and Diamondback humbucking pickup located at the bridge. The S-1 switch, found on other models, is removed to keep it simple, but Fender kept key features such as the hand-rolled fingerboard edges and staggered tuning machines.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Very well made guitar.Very solid,great sustain..Dependable..It's a rock I love it
|
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I just bought mine about a month ago..So far so good
|
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
An excellent all around guitar. When you first get home have the guitar set up.The action is kind of high from the factory.Mine plays everything from Judas Priest to Stevie Ray,depending on amp configeration. I have played Les Pauls my whole life and this guitar plays just as well with half the weight. The only down side is if your are playing heavier music with the tremelo it isn't as good a floyd Rose. You don't quite get the same dive bomb effect. Other than that this is an excellent guitar to have .I'm glad I finally bought one.

Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Feels smooth, and fast after a set up from my guitar tech...Has great chunk on the humbucker.
|
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Tone is real crunchy on the humbucker but not where it sizzles. Just right..The sigle coils are mellow and smooth as silk
|
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish on mine is excellent
|
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action out of the box was a little high for me..I took my to guitar tech the it got delivered and had it set up to me the way I like it. He said the intenation was off a little also..I had it all set up the way I like for $40.00..Now it is one of my main guitars.
