The American Standard Strat boasts more output and warmth thanks to its Neck and Middle positioned Tex Mex single-coil pickups and Diamondback humbucking pickup located at the bridge. The S-1 switch, found on other models, is removed to keep it simple, but Fender kept key features such as the hand-rolled fingerboard edges and staggered tuning machines.
