An example of doing something right
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
This is a top-of-the-line Fender if you ask me. Everything about this guitar makes it seem like it could almost be double the price, and that's just with the guitar.

Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
As far as quality is concerned, we are talking top-notch stuff here. The guiter came out of the case ready to play, and it felt extremely solid. Like other people have said, it is a workhorse and will stand the test of time.
|
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The feel of the guitar is outstanding. I ordererd the V-neck specifically because I knew my hands are well-suited to it vs. the modern-C shape. I really liked the compound radius of the neck, which makes chording and scaling much more comfortable while higher up on the fretboard, and the contoured heel just adds to the benefit. The stringsaver saddles on the bridge or a huge plus if you like to rest your palms there like I do.
|
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Being a Strat, you will know that it can be both bright and snappy as well as dark and smooth, but this guitar lets you explore the tonal possibilities more with the S1 switch. The N3 pickups, due to their noiseless design, don't quite stack up as well as the custom shop 50s, but they retain that famous bell-like Strat tone and shouldn't be enough of difference to make you say no.
|
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
I got the glossy black finish, and it was perfect. No physical flaws at all. Absolutely beautiful.
|
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action was great, I just wish Fender would have fed the tuning machines a bit more string while setting it up.
