When released in 1968, the semi-hollow body design of the Telecaster Thinline was originally an attempt to reduce the weight of ash-body Telecasters. With its f hole and reshaped pickguard, the Thinline Tele was a truly distinctive take on Fender's first great guitar. The Fender Classic Series '69 Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar brings it all back, with features including a lightweight semi-hollow mahogany body with f hole, U-shaped maple neck with 7.25 inch-radius maple fretboard, vintage-style single-coil Telecaster pickups and vintage-style bridge and tuners.
Fender Classic Series '69 Telecaster Thinline Features
- Semi hollow mahogany body for playing comfort and classic Thinline tone
- Two vintage style single coil Tele pickups for period correct tone
- U shaped maple neck with a 21 fret maple fingerboard
- Vintage style 3-saddle strings-thru-body Tele bridge

| Mexican Surprise |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| This guitar is surprising well made. The only thing I don't like is the 3 section adjustable bridge. This may be a personal thing with me, but every Tele I've had with this type of bridge was difficult to keep in tune and would slip and buzz. I have a 6 saddle bridge that I intend to swap out. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| I only had it a few months, but if it's like my other Fenders, I have no concerns. |
|
| General |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and workmanship of this MIM guitar. I have heard so much negative about the Mexican products I was hesitant to buy it. But the proof is in the tone and play ability. This one's a keeper! |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| The neck has a deep C-shape. Reminded me of my SG at first. I quickly got comfortable with it. It plays well. It's not a metal machine so I find it plays fast enough for country and blues. I primarily got it for country and Americana type music. |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| I was surprised to find that it had a good blues sound to it. Otherwise it sound like you'd expect a Tele to sound. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| Mine is black. I have found no flaws. I am very particular about my guitars and keep them looking as new as possible, playing out. |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| The action out of the box was fine. I do set up all my own guitars so it's not really an issue. |
