Fender Pawn Shop Series
Pawn Shop Series guitars are inspired by the more eccentric Fender creations of the mid-'60s to mid-'70s, which sometimes found their way to the outside world and into the more esoteric pages of Fender history. Crafted for thoroughly modern sound and quality, they present a creative alchemy of diverse Fender elements. With the Jaguarillo, the Pawn Shop Series introduces an unconventional design that will make you stand out!

Overall Rating
This thing is a beast.
What is your overall opinion of this product?
I have burned through many guitars recently trying to find one that felt and played as well as this one does. Everything about it from the tone to the scale length is perfect for me. Fits like a glove.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
For what you pay for this thing, it feels and sounds pro. I was pleasantly surprised and how tonally varied it can be. I've played light indie chords and I've downtuned to drop c# for a bit of metal and it handles it all well.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Your hands practically glide across the neck. I'm a small guy, so the shorter scale length is precisely what I've been looking for. Out of the box, the action was low and is had that signature "slinky" feel I've heard much about. Expect smooth vibrato from this one.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
The cleans are clean and the grit is gritty. The pickups are a lot warmer than you'd think, and when put through some serious distortion, the neck wails like nobody's business. The two single coils clean up nicely and though the lows could be tighter, the bridge is great for a stock hum.
How did the stain or paint job look?
Glistened out of the box. The red is really growing on me.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
I got exactly what I expected and then some. Compared to some other guitars I've tried in this price range, it definitely holds its own. Versatile, gorgeous, slick to play.
How was the action out of the box?
Action was low and loose: perfect for me. It practically plays itself, and I wouldn't believe anyone that has tried this guitar and told me otherwise. The fretboard is smooth and the neck is smoother. Fender's strings are always nice to play with when you're test driving your new axe, as well.
