    Product Description

Fender's Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster tears the place down with extra-scorching Strat sound and style. Its three Texas Special single-coil pickups are wired for supercharged tonal versatility, with a special V6 rotary switch (disguised as the middle tone knob) that delivers six distinct onboard-preamp tone settings from wiry single-coil to searing lead. The S-1 switch built into the volume knob bypasses the preamp completely for pure Strat tone.

Other features include a tinted maple neck with modern C profile and large '70s-style headstock, 9.5"-radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, five-way pickup switch, four-ply aged white pearloid pickguard, three aged white control knobs (master volume/S-1, V6, master tone), and vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge.

What is your overall opinion of this product?
This Strat has it all, plus some, especially for the price point. Quality build, comfortable neck (although I would prefer 6100 jumbo frets) and beautiful finish e.g. everything you would expect from a more expensive Fender. I absolutely love the large ‘70’s headstock too! I am a professional musician and own quite a few guitars. What makes this guitar very different from other Strat’s is the active EQ circuitry in combination with the passive, Texas Special single coil pickups. With the click of the active button on the volume knob, and a click turn of the 1st eq knob, which is actually a 6 position rotary switch going from thin to fat tones. I can go from a thin Tele tone to a fat almost Humbucking tone without losing the slice and sinew of a single coil. These Texas Special single coil pickups are warm and beefy, yet do not lose their way or ever get muddy. I was actually surprised on how full and rich they sound for a single coil pickup. That alone is worth the price. Of course along with single coils you get the proverbial 60 cycle hum when in bridge alone, middle alone, and neck alone positions, which to me is minimal considering the variety of tones this guitar produces. When I plugged straight into my Marshall DSL100H (no stomp boxes), I was getting the VH "Brown Sound" SPOT ON! Clean tones are beautiful, rich and chimey. As with all new guitars I suggest you have your guitar tech do a setup for your personal playing style (action, string size, etc). This is always important (especially filing the nut so it won’t bind). Fender (like most manufacturers) can be hit or miss. You will not be disappointed with this guitar. Fender hit it out of the park with this one.
