Fender

The Fender Blacktop series presents a truly unique model in the deeply resounding form of the Fender Blacktop Telecaster Baritone Electric Guitar. A true baritone Telecaster, the Blacktop Tele Baritone creates a rich sound of distinctive depth and character with a 27 inch scale, lowdown B-to-B tuning, and a tonally versatile triple-pickup configuration-including a full-throated Fender humbucking bridge pickup-that covers the entire sonic spectrum from tic-tac twang to full-on kerrang!

The Fender Blacktop Telecaster Baritone features an alder body, maple neck, 9.5 inch-radius rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and aged white position markers. The versatile tone is provided by single-coil Telecaster neck and middle pickups, humbucking bridge pickup and five-way pickup switching. Skirted black amp knobs and black switch tip give this Blacktop Tele a great, distinctive look.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This Made In Mexico Fender is very well made and very high quality, especially considering the price. It seems like a durable instrument.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I've only had it for a month.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
I love it. I just wish the factory setup was better. It's definitely not ready to go out-of-the-box. Be prepared to spend some time adjusting pickup height, action, neck relief and intonation.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
This instrument is heavy and intonation is an issue. I enjoy the chunky, glossy neck and jumbo frets. The control layout is familiar.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The pickups on this instrument are good enough and the HSS configuration with 5-way switch allows for varied tones. The humbucker is definitely designed for rock.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
I ordered the Ghost Silver finish and let me tell you, it is absolutely stunning. The paint has depth and reflects light like crazy.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The action needed adjusting out of the box.
