Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This product is built JUST like they used to build 'em back in the '50's! It has a solid feel construction-wise, and doesn't feel cheap.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I've had this now for about 8 months, and so far, it's withstood: two falls from a stage, one fall down some steps, and having a printer fall on it. And it works JUST the same!
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
If I had to buy a guitar that was reliable, sturdy, and sounded good, THIS would be it!
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The playing on this thing is AMAZING! I felt like I was playing butter, THAT'S how smooth and silky the neck feels. The tone is pretty decent, I would swap out the pickups for something a bit more "boutique-ey" but other than that, this thing is almost perfect, the pots were smooth, the tension on the neck,...perfect.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Well, because I come from a blues based background, I'm always looking for the "sweet spot" when it comes to tone and pickups. These pickups are decent sounding, but I prefer more mellowness, more jazzy roundness, and not so much brittle-glass sound. But with a pickup swap-out, this could become the guitar that takes you to super-stardom.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
In a word: Flawless.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Any other time I would say it too was flawless, but I'll have to confess that I did need to have it dropped just a bit, it came in a little too high for my personal tastes.
