A great little guitar for the price
What is your overall opinion of this product?
I got it as a test to see how I would like the feel of a Telecaster. And I was quite surprised, it feels great, has excellent tone.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
Well it's not a real Fender Telecaster but it sounds good, has great tone and plays remarkably well. It would be an excellent starter guitar.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Feels great, has a really mellow tone but can get dirty with the the gain cranked. I like it.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
It has a great tone, I was going to change out the Lead pick up but actually it sounds pretty good the way it is. The rhythm pick up is a bit tame but I suspect that is true with all Telies. May change that out for a Seymour Duncan pick up.
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish on it it is flawless as is all the gear I've gotten from AMS. Not a scratch.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
Well for the price I consider it to be a great bargain, really all I had to do was put a good set of strings on it, adjust the intonation a little and she was good to go.
How was the action out of the box?
Out of the box it was pretty good, tuned her up and she sounded sweet but I did change the strings afterward for a better feel. The intonation was a little off but not bad. But I found most of the gear I get needs a little TLC after shipping.
