Better than expected!
What is your overall opinion of this product?
Love it! I am beginner, and this is my first new bass, but it's everything I expected and more! Compared to a used bass I have, it feels like it is set up pretty well right out of the box. My used bass experience's fret rattles above the twelth fret on the E and A string; but not this one. It rings clear all the way down the neck.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
I can't honestly say at this point due to my inexperience.
Are the features on the product what you were expecting? What are your favorite features?
I like everything! The weight, balance, feel, finish, and tone. I guess I just like Precision Basses.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Everything feels good to me; but then again, I lack experience.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
Sounds good to me, but again....
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish looks great! I picked bought this one as a "Scratch and Dent" discount. It arrived still packaged in its original wrappings, with all of its protective plastic film still in place. The defect is at the rear strap peg, where the peg was installed slightly off center, exposing a small area of bare wood. Other than that, the condition is perfect and the strap end will cover the bare spot.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
Yes, definitely.
How was the action out of the box?
Like I mentioned above, it feels set-up well right out of the box.
