Great buy for the price
What is your overall opinion of this product?
This bass is the best Squier product I've tried.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
For a Squier, great quality. I use it in a band that has a wide sonic range, and it works well with all applications.
Are the features on the product what you were expecting? What are your favorite features?
Everything I expected. Pots are smooth, bass is well built. The tapered neck makes for generally easier playing, as opposed to the wider neck on the P Bass.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The neck is a bit slow because of the Satin finish, which also opens it up to collecting gunk a bit easier. A better set of strings and a wipe-down after each use can cure these ailments, though.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
the tone is very versatile, as most Jazz basses are. Having two pickups and two tone controls allows for the player to vary the tone vastly, yet easily.
How did the stain or paint job look?
Clear coat looks great, no real issues.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
Great buy for the price, worth every penny. I would choose this bass over any in the same price range, especially for the aesthetic qualities. Looks like a $600+ bass.
How was the action out of the box?
Action was too high out of the box, caused a little buzz, but again, this is to be expected. Nothing that couldn't be fixed in 5-10 minutes. Neck was nice and straight.
