GREAT acoustic electric bass guitar
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This bass is made extremely well. I couldn't find a single flaw. I wouldn't hesitate to gig with this instrument.
|
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
The onboard tuner is very cool. When you press the tuner button, it mutes the output to the jack - a great feature for live performances.

General
Your general opinion of this product.
Disclaimer: this instrument was sent to me by AMS to review and I was allowed to keep it. I tend to like bigger bodied acoustic instruments, but I was surprised at how much I liked this bass. The quality and features are all outstanding, and it's relatively inexpensive too.

|
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The active EQ can take you anywhere from a bassy almost upright bass-ish tone, to a snarly MM grind, to a mid scooped slap tone. It's very versatile.
|
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The maple used for the top was very impressive, and I am accustomed to instruments with highly flamed maple tops. The way they got this instrument so cheap is that the top is laminated. The paint is flawlessly applied.
