Fender Texas Special Telecaster Pickups Set Of 2

Fender Texas Special Tele Pickups Set Of 2

Maintaining that great Texas sound the two pickup Tele set features an overwound neck (rhythm) pickup for a fatter sound (isolated ground wire). The bridge (lead) pickup is custom wound with 43 gauge wire to match "Broadcaster" specs adding the fat mid-range sound characteristic of the early Broadcasters and Teles . Finally a great Tele pickup replacement set.

Razor-sharp attack and higher output make these Tele pickups essential equipment for the well-equipped Tele owner! Born in the Custom Shop and used on many custom-made Teles, they feature height-staggered Alnico 5 magnets mounted into a fiber bobbin wrapped with enamel-coated magnet wire. The bridge pickup features a copper-plated steel bottom plate for increased output, presence and midrange. The neck pickup utilizes a nickel silver cover for clear, warm tone with increased output. OEM on the James Burton Standard, Merle Haggard Tribute and American Classic Telecasters.

Subject:best tele pickups available
Overall: I had a set of these installed on my Mex Tele and they sound GREAT!!!!!!!!! The bridge pickup has all of the bite you could ask for. The neck pickup is VERY HOT! If you want to upgrade your Tele I would recommend either these or the vintage noiseless set. Texas Tele pickups have that great, vintage tele sound and then some.

QUALITY:
High-quality, Fender Custom Shop pickups.

FEATURES:
Vintage appointments with the fiber bobbins and waxed push-back wire covers. Staggered pole pieces on the bridge pickup. No special tricks other than being a nice vintage pickup.

EASE OF USE:
Well, easy to install and easy to use. Hard to adjust the neck pickup since it's in a G&L ASAT Classic, but that's not the pickups fault.

VALUE:
With all of the high-priced vintage style and specialized pus on the market, these are a great bargain. These are about the same price as a standard set of two tele pickups, but actually sound as good as some boutique manufacturers.

SOUND:
Nice sounding pickups. I was a little worried about the Texas Special name, but if you are, don't be. The bridge is perfect for classic country with a broadcaster edge. The neck may be a little warmer than std. tele neck pickups, but it is still smooth and round withou
