Fender kept the hand-rolled fingerboard edges, alnico V pickups and staggered tuning machines for playability, tone and stability, and added several new features, including improved bent-steel saddles on the bridge with a copper-infused high-mass block for increased resonance and sustain, tinted neck treatment for a richer presentation, and fingerboard buffed to a high gloss, though the back of the neck still has that silky satin finish. Fender also reduced the amount of the American Strat's undercoat to let the body breathe, thus, improving this guitar's resonance. And last but not least, Fender has reconnected with SKB to give you a stronger sturdier molded case.
