Subject:Best of both worlds...
Overall:

QUALITY:
For the money, an excellent bass. quality of woodworking is very good. Parts fit well. If there's a downside, it's slightly inferior hardware, but hardware can be upgraded. I replaced the stock Fender bridge immediately with a Badass II. As far as I'm concerned, that's a must-have upgrade. I also replaced the gold plastic (yes, plastic - not gold anodized metal) pickguard with a very cool pearlized white one. Changed the look completely for the better in my opinion.

FEATURES:
The best features of the bass are the hybrid Jazz neck and Precision body, and the hybrid P-bass neck pickup and Jazz bridge pickup. It's truly the best of both worlds in the Fender arena.

EASE OF USE:
The active eq worked well, but I replaced the electronics and pickups with EMG passive ones. I like to eq my rig, not my bass. Keep it simple.

VALUE:
I love this bass. You caould pay a lot more, but this is a very good quality instrument.

Subject:Want a P-Bass fix but don't want to pay big bucks?
Quality: The quality of this bass is really solid. I have a couple other American P-Basses and recently purchased the American Jazz Bass Deluxe V. I have found that the the overall quality on this bass was a good value compared to the $1300.00 plus I paid for other Fender rigs. The vintage finish is what caught my eye and it stands up to the American made Fenders I own very well.
Reliability: I've only had this bass for a couple of weeks, so it's tough to say how it will hold up over time. To this point, after moderate playing, it shows no issues with reliability. Fit and finish remains solid.
Overall: I am pleased with the quality of this bass for the money. It does fall a bit short when compared to my other basses, but they cost 2-3 times more than this rig. That being said, it plays well and the ability to vary the sound and play different styles of music is great. There is very little difference from the new American Jazz Deluxe Active V controls and this made it easy to get the sound I wanted without too much hunting around. A good value for the price.
Playability and Feel: Playability is good, neck plays fast and bass has great bright and bottom end depending on what you want-rock, slap, jazz, etc. The neck has a soft feel that provides good access for moving around the fretboard without too much effort. Controls are accessable and easy to use once you understand the layout. I am pleased with the product and the vintage look is really cool too.
Tone: Like the other active Fender basses, this bass has ability to get all sorts of different tonal variations. Pickups put out good levels and allow you to get a warm smooth tone or a good slap brightness.
Finish: I already mentioned the vintage finish caught my eye, but it truly has a really cool finish quality. No visual issues upon close examination and it looks great.
Action: Action out of the box was pretty good. No issues with set-up other than minor bridge/pickup adjustment and just tuned and played. I was pleased with the set-up when I got it. Compared to other basses I've purchased where major adjustments were needed to make it right,I had to do very little on this rig.

Subject:One Top Notch Bass
Quality: This Bass is one very nice guitar. I've played and owned American Fenders which were several times the price, and this one is right up there with them in both sound and playability.
Reliability: I have not owned this bass for a long time yet, but I am a professional guitar tech and can spot quality construction when I see it. This bass will be around for a long time.
Overall: The bass arrived double boxed, and inside a fender gig bag. I am very happy with this purchase. It has the Fender Precision Body and the Fender Jazz Neck. I consider this a wonderful combination.
Playability and Feel: Very few guitars arrive all set up and ready to play. In fact I would say in the 16 years I have been a guitar tech I have seen only a handful. I was pleasantly surprised to find the neck to be perfectly straight and all the frets even.
Tone: With both a Precision and a Jazz pickup, you basically have both basses for the price of one. To make it better, instead of a 3 way toggle switch for the pickups, there is a pan switch. This is great as it allows infinite percentage choices of the two pickups instead of one or the other or both pickups. This allows for tonal variations unlike any bass I have seen.
Finish: It's a poly finish, so don't expect to look deep into the finish. I bought the Blizzard Pearl with Maple fretboard. It is a beauty and I get a lot of compliments on both the appearance and sound.
Action: The action is set nice and low and plays very well.

Subject:A great Fender mix
Quality: Mine is put together very well,it's very sturdy, and is likely to be around for a very long time.
Reliability: I've only had mine for about 4 months and I've been useing it every Sunday at church and I usually practice with it almost every day and it's always ready to go.
Overall: It's my first Fender bass and I could'nt have made a better choice. It's not heavy, very comfortable to play, the neck is faster than I thought it would be. It exceeded all my expectations.
Playability and Feel: Nicely contured body, the neck is like butter. The frets are set nicely, I have the strings set rather low and there's no buzzin' at all
Tone: Wonderful range of tone can be made to sound smooth as silk, punch your lights out and all points inbetween ans still able to slap it silly
Finish: The chrome red is gleemin' the gold pickguard goes well with it although maybe black would really make it pop.
Action: The neck needed a minor adjustment, which isn't a big deal if you know how. Other than that...perfection.
