Customer Review Rate and Review this Product: 1 person wrote a review 7 people rated this item Telewhacker from USA Overall Ranking: Price: Overall: Sound: Quality: Reliability: Action: Finish: Playability: Tone: Subject: A very good sounding amp Quality: The quality build of the amp is about as good as it gets for a factory amp. Probabley not as good as a botique or custom built amp but, I'm OK with that. Sound: I've heard it said that this amp has all the breakup of a vintage Fender with none of the charm. Probabley due to its solid state rectifire ( no spongy feel ). Personally I prefer the non spongy feel. I have found that this amps sweet spot is the volume and tone set between 6 to 8. Of coarse I have to ride the volume and tone on me guitar but, the PJ does just what I expect it to do. I love it. I would say the PJ is articulat and warm. My guitar is a MIM tele with a full size humbucker in the neck position. Sounds really good to my ears and I have gotten comments on the awesome twang this setup produces. Reliability: I've been gigging with it faithfully twice a week for 2 years and My daughter takes it from time to time. I am still using the stock tubes and speaker. Don't know if that is lond enough to tell. Overall: I have an older one with the chrome and it hasn't given me any problems. I think it is a great design. It's light small and loud, well enough to keep up with a drummer and bass. If not you can always mic it. It's simple to set up and if you desire more color to your sound it takes pedals well. Playability and Feel: Great cleans but not really vintage Fender. Maybe because of EL84 power tubes.Breakup is pure 70's rock almost AC 30ish. It does hum a little but when the band starts going the hum isn't noticed. Tone: I think the PJ is a little on the dark side of Fender but still has great top end.Chime?. Finish: It is small, Black and silver. Hardley noticable. looks good though. Action: I wouldn't recommend this as a bedroom amp because it has no master volume and it's just too loud.
