The Fender Champion 600 is a fun, affordable tribute to a rare amp.
The new Champion 600 is a 5-Watt tube amp with a 6-inch speaker and 1950 two-tone looks. They added a higher-gain preamp circuit to let the overdriven tone exceed that of the original, and added a choice of high- or low-gain inputs. Internal speaker jack enables use of a larger speaker cabinet. Only 15 pounds, a great little tube amp for recording or practicing. Fender Champion 600 Features
- Tube Preamp and Tube Power Amp: One 12AX7 tube; One 6V6 tube.
- 5 watts into a 6-inch Special Design speaker.
- High-gain and low-gain inputs; hotter preamp circuit than the 1950 original for warm natural overdrive when turned up.
- Single volume control.
- External speaker output.
- Brown and blonde vinyl covering; vintage-correct 1950 two-tone cosmetics.
- Leather strap handle.
- Red jewel pilot light.

AMS comes through
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Second amp AMS sent works perfectly. I also like the fact that since it has a second imput I can plug in a microphone and sing and play at the same time, all with this small compact amp. This is a very versatile unit.

Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
With the new tubes this is a daily enjoyment. Makes practice fun.
|
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I purchased this due to its great reviews but the first one shipped to me was defective so I shipped it back. AMS called me when they received it(Monday) and shipped me a new one which arrived the next day(Tuesday)!AMS stands behind you if you have any trouble!
|
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
As part of my ascetic that cheap simple amps are better than massive stacks for delta blues, one volume control turned all the way up for bluesy tone is the way to go.On Youtube people also use this as harmonica amp.
|
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
With the stock tubes a very light clean sound.Replaced with JJ's, warm dirty George Thorogood,Elmore James tones.
|
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
This is a cute amp no matter how you look at it. Very 50's vibe and easy on the eyes. With the new tubes I think I'm in love.
|
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Second amp, shipped overnight, works like a charm.
