QUALITY: In it's price range, it's top-notch. It's a lot of machine for the money, no doubt. I'll get my money's worth if it lasts 2 years. That's about 50 cents a day.
FEATURES: Again, in it's price range, top-notch. What can I say? If you can run it, then you should be able to create good recordings. As with any device, there's a learning curve, but you can have some fun 10 minutes after it hits the door..
EASE OF USE: Anybody can use this recorder right out of the box. If you spend a little time in the manual, you can get great recordings. If you go at it with a method in mind and do a little reading, you'll get it pretty quick. In my rig, there's almost no patching, and I can stack up several tracks in a row with no patching, just a couple of button-pushings in between tracks. You get to be the musician more and have to be the recording engineer less.
VALUE: This is my second one. I paid $399 for each of them.

QUALITY: its made pretty well. the shell is a little flimsy on the bottom.
FEATURES: the ability to record 4tracks at the same time is why I bought it. It does that well and the main feature of recording (like plug in and record without fancy editing and whatnot) is way easy.
EASE OF USE: The most basic part (plug and record) is easy, but other than that, its kind of confusing. I come from using computer recording programs and interfaces. Those are straight forward compared to this. Great sound though
VALUE: Heck yea. Id buy it again in a moment.
SOUND: its awesome. Not 24bit or 32bit, but its definately good enough for albums. and the mastering effects are amazing.

QUALITY: Seems well built. Faders are smooth, pan and gain knobs are a little flimsy, just be a little carefull.
FEATURES: Best Feature- Records 4 tracks simultaneously (find that on any other 8 track at this price). The amp models suck, but will do for scratch tracks, the effects are limited, but fairly fuctional (esp. ther delays). Worst oversight - NO EQ! Come on guys! How can you properly mix down with no eq? That being said, the usb function mitigates this problem. I have been tracking on this machine, then transfering all the tracks over to my pc for final mixing and mastering in cubase. This eliminates the eq problem, the effects issues, and allows you almost unlimited tracks (keep recording and dumping). This system is working out great. The mic preamps are weak, so invest a decent tube preamp to warm things up.
EASE OF USE: Way to easy! I had tracks recorded, dumped to my pc and mixed within one hour of opening the box! Ser

QUALITY: While I have only owned this recorder for about 1.5 months, it seems to be well made. Everything works as it should.
FEATURES: The only thing I found to be lacking is that there are no tone (trebble, midrange, bass) controls but I pretty much adjust that from my guitars and/or effects pedals. Still, it would be nice for the vocals. I do like the built in reverb and have found it quite useful.
EASE OF USE: Pretty easy to use. I did read the manual before making my first recording and refer to it from time to time but all in all I find this unit easy to comprhend.
VALUE: For the money it makes very high quality recordings. I am a singer song writer and I play all the guitar parts (rhythm, lead, & bass) as well as sing all the parts for my original tunes. Those thah have heard my recordings are amazed at the quality. After recording my tracks I dump everything into my computer for mixing and editing. This unit d

QUALITY: It seems relatively sturdy...
FEATURES: The feature are kind of lacking... but if you have a good studio ampo that you can get all the sounds you want out of its fine. Recording are very clear.
EASE OF USE: Very easy to use. Did not even open the manual...
VALUE: Can not get anything better for the price, trust me I looked around alot.
SOUND: Excellent sound quality. DO NOT USE MONSTER CABLES. monster mic cables record horribly. Get mogami, they are excellent.
STYLE: Rock
MUSIC EXPERIENCE: About a year
OVERALL: Great product. Four tracks simeltanious. If thats enough for you get it. If your like me and you just record one vocal and one guitar, then its perfect. |
