Furman M8X Merit Series Power Conditioner

The Furman M8X Merit Series Power Conditioner is the perfect low-cost AC power solution for any rack mount system.

  • Spike & surge protection ensures equipment stays safe and your power stays clean
  • 8 rear panel outlets and 1 front panel outlet
  • 15 amp rating, with circuit breaker
  • Front panel indicator LED lets you know that your equipment is being protected
  • Rear outlets have been spaced to accommodate even the bulkiest of wall warts and adapters

Applications

Instrument Rigs
You've got a rack for your effects, preamps, tuner...You're going to plug that into the wall? One big spike and your rig is up in smoke. Furman's standard level surge/spike protection defends your gear from the spikes and surges that are so common at gigs and practice spots. With Furman's standard level RFI/EMI filtration, you'll get a quieter tone without pops, crackles, and the local radio station coming out of your amp.

Recording
Can't track down where that noise is coming from? Your mix sounding flat? With Furman's standard level RFI/EMI filtration you'll lower the noise floor caused by the dirty AC power coming into your console or DAW. Furman's standard level surge and spike protection keeps your sensitive digital equipment from acting funny or burning up due to everyday spikes and surges. With a 15A capacity and nine total outlets, it's enough to power your whole home studio.

DJ Equipment
Bars, clubs and other event venues have some of the worst power out there - from air compressors turning on and off to light shows pulling current loads up and down, the AC power can be a strain on the circuits in your rig. Furman's standard level protection and filtration keeps the bad stuff out.

Pro Audio
When you're out there gigging, you never know what kind of power you're going to get. The wear and tear on mobile rigs eventually takes it toll - that's why it's smart to plug into Furman's standard level protection and RFI/EMI filtration. It keeps your equipment safe and sounding clean. Whether you're setting up a show at the local club or powering up the church band for their next service, make sure you give them power they can trust.

Subject:Finally.
Quality: Yes, it is well made! Hopefully it will be dependable, first Furman product for me. There's another line that suppresses even more noise, low level noise in my case, I'll get that when I start doing some serious recording and performing, this level of noise suppression suits me just fine, quite fine.
Features: It's easy to use. Plug stuff in, hit the switch, nearly all noise is gone, for even quieter performance, again, you need the next level up, not the next models in this line. Regardless, it suppresses SO much noise, it's well worth the investment for home recording and home practice. The recordings I'm getting are now highly and accurate with very manageable noise. The noise gates on my signal process now function significantly better.
Ease of Use: ...can you put a plug into an outlet and flip a switch? ...can you push a little red button if you needed to? If yes to both questions, you wan operate it with ease.
Sound: First thing I noticed, NO MORE RFI/EMI noise on the wireless headphones, gone. Next thing, since there's no noise, the speakers ring clearer and truer and louder, big ass and clear bass on both the headphones and monitors. Just a huge, huge improvement in sound quality, it's like I have a new system. I just got a new tele standard mim, the pickup noise went bye-bye, totally playable now whereas before, I had to stand in one spot and one direction to avoid the noise for a few days before the Furman arrived. With humbuckers, I can can use bigger effects saturation without those nasty minute noises getting processed as well. I could not get the true fender sound without the noise filters, it's just not there, but it is now. An imperative piece of equipment, most important one I've discovered thus far!

Subject:Great Value
Quality: Solid, just like everything that Furman makes. If I have a lot of stuff plugged into it that is powered on (monitors, processors, etc) when the switch is flipped, it will pop my circuit breaker. I suppose that's what it is supposed to protect against, though so I have no complaints. Just turn everything in your studio/rack off individually (you should, any way but I am lazy:))
Features: none...unless you count an on/off switch...its REALLY basic
Ease of Use: no more difficult than a power strip
Sound: n/a...I guess...well, I don't get any bad power noises coming from anything, so I guess that qualifies
