    Product Rating
What is your opinion of this product?
This is a great sounding/playing Gibson....Bridge pickup is really weak....Neck one is amazing...!! The finish is orange peel...especially on headstock and body had quite a few flaws....It was bought to play...not look at so for just over $1000 it's a great deal....not made as well as year before or this years model...

Oh, Gibby, What Happened to Quality Control?
What is your opinion of this product?
Nearly 50 years of playing, 5 Firebirds and numerous other Gibsons. My '76 Firebird got run over by my bass player (take the 'B' out of bass and well, you described him). AMS is the best, 10 stars, but this Firebird...well, first off, when I opened it, the bridge pickup was completely out of the socket and wedged at an angle. Had to take the entire assembly off and use a screwdriver to force back into pickup ring. But wait, there's more. Finish is SO orange peeled I can't believe QC even THOUGHT this was acceptable. It doesn't even feel like the edges were sanded with anything but a rough file. Terrible. However, I plugged it in, and like that homely girlfriend you have that makes love so sweet, the sound was amazing. Was about to write off Gibsons entirely, but oh, no, sound was SUPERB...even with a neck that was so bowed I could barely finger the strings. I let the wood settle in, and adjusted the neck, action and intonation, and, I asked this ugly duckling to marry me. Keeper.

"I love my new Firebird and had an origianl 1964 V when I started out as a teen"
What is your opinion of this product?
I ordered the new Gibson Firebird V in late March and received it 3 weeks later, much sooner than anticipated. My first Gibson was a vintage 1964 Firebird V I bought new and loved it. The new one needed a setup, but after the setup it has become my main guitar and my two Paul Reed Smith's are now my backups. I have a 10 top Custom 24 and 10 top Studio (American), which I love but have fallen in love with the Firebird again. Excellent sustan, and the overall qulity is very good! For the price drop from Gibson don't hesitate and pick up this bargain. You may never see a price this low again. Thanks Ameican Musical Supply for the great service! PS: I've been playing in bands since 1964 and currently play classic rock.

    Great guitar, great price
What is your opinion of this product?
This is the second Firebird that I have owned. The first one that I had cost me much more than this one. The quality of this guitar exceeds that of the one I had. Great sustain and action. Terrific addition to anyone's collection. The only con is that the tuning machines take a bit of getting used to, but it is worth it. If you are looking for a Gibson at a great price, then buy this guitar and be sure to buy the case for it.

    Well worth the money
What is your opinion of this product?
Very nice guitar and I saved big time with a scratch and dent. I'm guessing the previous owner had no idea on how to set up a guitar as the neck was really bowed. I've seen people complain about Gibson setups. I'm guessing they don't take into consideration climate changes which always can alter the guitars neck. I always let them acclimate to the climate before I do a final setup but that's just me. After a quick set up and new strings this guitar plays amazing. I'm sure Ill have to do another setup when it finally settles in to its new environment. The pickups are much hotter than I expected. Bridge is about 24dc resistance and neck about 15dc. They still retain a vintage sound. I thought about changing them before I got it but I do like them more than I expected to so they will stay. The guitar has a great look and finish. I've had previous firebirds and they seemed neck heavy and for me this one isn't. Gig bag? I have a flight case for a Firebird so not a deal breaker. Buy it!

    Amazing Price
What is your opinion of this product?
I've had it for a couple months, and gigged it. It isn't what I expected, it doesn't play like any other Gibson I own. It has its own tone and feel. The firebird is beefy sounding with gain, and sits comfortably horizontal strapped on (not too much neck dive). For everyone that always wanted a Firebird but couldn't afford one, nows the time to take a serious look. The biggest negative is the gig bag it comes with. It's thin and provides very little actual protection. Worst part is Gibson is not selling a hard case for it. Come on Gibson, what's up with that..? Fit and finish is spectacular, again for the price it's crazy to be able to finally pick up a Bird..

    Beyond my expectation
What is your opinion of this product?
Perfect weight, great looks, finish , fit and intonation are perfection. Had banjo tuners before and these are SUPERIOR to them. Steinberger really hit home run. Soft case, who cares, I wanted the guitar and have already bought a hard case now that I know this will be my favorite player. We have about 30 guitars between my son and I. Keeper. Thank you AMS for the fine packing of this gem Johnny Winter would love to play this thing!

    Fantastic Firebird
What is your opinion of this product?
This Firebird arrived in playable condition right out of the box. I'm a picky player when it comes to setting up my guitars but not this one. Everything was perfect from neck relief, string height, pickup height, finish is beautiful. All I had to do was tune it to pitch! This is a great guitar for the money. Now I own the axe that Allen Collins played on his awesome Free Bird solo. I always wanted a Bird for my Free Bird solo. This thing sounds great too. If you're on the fence like I was for years you owe it to yourself to buy one. You won't regret it. Use that tax refund or use AMS's 12 payment plan but do get one.

not that great for the money
What is your opinion of this product?
The set up was terrible out of the box. Guitar wont stay in tune no matter how much you stretch the strings.Fit and finish is good and the electronics are good but the Steinberger tuners suck!!
