Gibson

The Gibson ES335 Dot Figured Top Semi Hollowbody has massive tone and incredible vibe.
Gibson invented the semi hollowbody electric guitar in 1958, offering players the perfect combination of traditional archtop looks and powerful solidbody performance. Today's ES335 continues to provide the tone and the look that inspires musicians in blues, rock and jazz. The American Made Memphis Series DOT Reissue features a figured maple top, maple body, a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, two Gibson 1957 Classic humbuckers and Grover tuners.

Featuring a list of players that include Chuck Berry, Larry Carlton, Eric Clapton, Freddie King, and Alvin Lee, the Gibson ES335 has proven to be one of the most popular and adaptable guitars ever created. Touted as the wonder thin body by Gibson when it launched in 1958, the ES335 represented a ground breaking innovation in electric guitars. With its solid maple center block and f hole semi hollowbody design, the ES335 effectively delivers the singing sustain of a solidbody while preserving the tone and richness of a full hollowbody, with no feedback.

Gibson has made several changes to more accurately reflect an original ES335, including a period correct center block resulting in 10 to 15 percent weight reduction, a slightly thinner body, and lower binding height.

While this timeless beauty gives you a tone that is warm and subtle with full, even response, it doesn’t hold back when you need that classic Gibson humbucker crunch!

The 1957 Classic features Gibson’s special Alnico II magnet, vintage enamel coated wire, nickel plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, maple spacers and vintage style, two conductor, braided wiring. The pickups feature the Patent Applied For decal on the baseplate, the 1957 Classic and 1957 Classic Plus are faithful replicas of the famous Gibson humbuckers that helped define the music of the late 1950s.
