Gibson

All the power and playability of the legendary Les Paul with the full-throated rumble of a long-scale, drop-tuned guitar. The Gibson Les Paul Studio Baritone Electric Guitar takes you to the lower dimensions of electric guitar tone. The Les Paul Studio Baritone takes all the time-tested ingredients that have made the Studio range a favorite with players everywhere, and crafts them into a guitar with a 28 inch scale length that's perfect for the lower tunings that are making inroads in rock, thrash and metal today.

Whether you play C# F# B E G# C# or B E A D F# B, or your own variation of baritone tuning, the Les Paul Studio Baritone has the girth and the gusto to rip out the low-slung riffs in grand style. And it looks great, too, with its classic Gibson Les Paul design wrapped in a genuine nitrocellulose finish in high-gloss Honey Burst.

Gibson Les Paul Studio Baritone Electric Guitar Features
  • Mahogany body with hi-gloss Honey Burst Maple top
  • Comfortable, rounded '50s neck profile
  • 28 inch scale length Rosewood fingerboard with acrylic dot inlays
  • Uncovered 496R neck and 500T bridge humbucking pickups
  • Chrome Grover tuners tuners with an efficient 14:1 turn ratio
Body
A solid, carved Grade-A maple top and weight-relieved Grade-A mahogany body give the Les Paul Studio Baritone the same tonewood combination that has been helping Les Pauls rock for nearly 60 years. It gives you the tonal depth and richness married to clarity and articulation that has helped to make the Gibson Les Paul the world's favorite single-cutaway electric guitar.

Neck and Fingerboard
The guitar's glued-in neck is crafted from solid quarter-sawn Grade-A mahogany and carved to a rounded '50s profile that is superbly comfortable in the hand. It carries a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and a 12-inch radius for easy, choke-free bending. A 17-degree back-angled headstock gives optimum string pressure in the PLEK-cut slots of its Corian nut, and a 1 11/16 inch width that gives you plenty of room to move around the 'board.

Electronics
Naturally, a major part of the Gibson Les Paul Studio Baritone's punching power comes from its pickups, two of Gibson USA's finest humbuckers. The 496R in the neck position is made with a ceramic magnet for outstanding power and fidelity, resulting in an extremely clear and articulate neck pickup that can nevertheless hit extremely hard when desired.

The 500T in the bridge position also uses a ceramic magnet, along with overwound coils that make it one of Gibson's hottest humbuckers, perfect for extreme snarl, growl and crunch from the bridge position.

Hardware
And to lock it all down there's the classic pairing of Gibson's legendary Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, famous for more than five decades for their sustain-enhancing solidity and superb adjustability. Wrap it all up, and it just might be the world’s most toneful way to throw down in the lowdown.
