Not bad, but you can definitely do better for the money
General
What is your overall opinion of this product?
Not bad, but not great either. This will be just a temporary guitar. I bought planning to keep a long time, however, the quality issues has me already looking for a different guitar. I have always wanted a Gibson, but I am thinking that was a flaw in my thought process. I have owned 2 months and already am searching for a different guitar. I have owned several other American made guitars(fender heritage, G&L) and this one is at the bottom for quality.
Quality
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
Extremely disappointed in quality. Especially when I specifically emailed AMS of what I wanted. I requested a guitar with low action and heavier weight.I received a guitar with very unplayable high action and very lightweight. This guitar can cover a wide variety of music.
Feel
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Neck is not as thick as I would have expected, but it is still a decent neck profile. Controls are standard Gibby LP
Tone
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
Tone is pretty good, pick ups are pretty versatile. You can feel the resonance in the body wood.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Like a 10 year old did it.
Value
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
Tone, it does pretty well, set-up, fit and finish, not even close to other guitars in same price range. The fit and finish on an Epi LP standard blows this out of the water.
Playability
How was the action out of the box?
Unplayable. Required major work on nut, intonation was horrible. I am just glad it says Gibson on the head stock, so I can get the majority of my money back.
