Product Description

The Gibson LPJ Les Paul Left Handed Electric Guitar is a genuine Gibson USA axe at a fantastic price! The lefty LPJ offers all the ingredients that made the most desirable Les Paul Standards legendary—classic tonewoods, innovative hardware, two genuine humbuckers, and Gibson’s acclaimed build quality and playability. The stripped-down design of the Gibson LPJ Les Paul is meant to be played, and played often!

Simpler esthetics and a cool worn-look finish technique add up to big savings for the player, and the left handed LPJ still looks great in grain-textured nitrocellulose lacquer. If you’re a lefty looking for an affordable, unique Gibson guitar, look no further than the LPJ Les Paul!

Gibson LPJ Les Paul Left Handed Electric Guitar Features

  • Mahogany body with carved Maple top
  • Maple neck with rounded '50s profile
  • Rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays
  • 490R and 498T humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge positions
  • Vintage-style tuners with 16:1 gear ratio
The LPJ begins with the classic wood combination of a mahogany back and two-piece carved maple top. When paired, these woods offer a tonal depth and complexity unmatched by any single-wood construction, with warmth and richness from the mahogany, and superb clarity and ‘snap’ from the maple, all of which translates beautifully into the guitar’s amplified sound. The mahogany back is strategically weight relieved to improve comfort and enhance resonance.

A neck made from hard-wearing maple is glued into the body of the lefty Gibson LPJ, and carved to the popular rounded 50s profile. It is topped with a genuine rosewood fingerboard that carries 22 medium-jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays. Quality touches continue with a PLEK-cut nut made from black Corian to subtly echo the black speed knobs and black pickup rings and covers. The traditional back-angled headstock is silkscreened with a gold Gibson logo that stands out clear and proud.

A pair of Gibson’s popular Modern Classics humbucking pickups fire up the LPJ Les Paul. Made in the image of the legendary PAF humbucker and modified to suit the needs of the contemporary guitarist, the set includes a 490R in the neck position, made with an Alnico II magnet and standard-wound coils for plenty of warmth and clarity, and a 498T in the bridge position, with over-wound coils and an Alnico V magnet for more punch and sizzle in your lead playing. An independent volume and tone control per pickup plus a three-way toggle selector switch allows a broad range of sonic variations

Gibson USA’s legendary Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece ensure solid sustain and outstanding intonation. A set of vintage-style tuners with black keys provides an impressive 16:1 gear ratio for precise and efficient tuning. Put it all together, and the left handed Gibson LPJ is the fastest road to a genuine Les Paul, sparing none of the tone, while putting the legend in your hands with far less load on your wallet.

Buy it! Great Guitar!
What is your overall opinion of this product?
Well built and great sound. This is a Les Paul without the glossy finish and pretty white trim... which to me means nothing. Awesome sound... love the playability! Great, Great Guitar... not only would I buy another... I AM going to.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
My first Gibson I have ever owned... it won't be alone.. plan on purchasing a couple more.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Neck is a bit thicker than what I am used to, but I am getting used to it. If you haven't really sat and played a Les Paul it will take getting used to (like anything else)... but you should love it. I do.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
Everything I expected and much more! Metal and Rock tones for me!
How did the stain or paint job look?
Nicer than what the pictures show. The best thing about this finish is that it isn't the glossy, mirror finish you worry about beating up.... this guitar is made to play!!! All the sound without the 'hairspray and makeup'.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
$509... worth 3 times that much to me. I don't need the beauty.... it's the sound I'm after and this is it!!! Buy it!!
How was the action out of the box?
Great action and tone. Neck is chunky and I'm used to Ebony fretboards..... but that hasn't stopped it from me falling in love with this Guitar and it becoming my favorite out of 5 (so far).
