    Product Description

If you’re seeking a full-bore Les Paul primed for the rock excesses of the 21st century, the Shred Les Paul Studio with Floyd Rose is the way to go. This guitar has all the ingredients that have helped to make the Les Paul a legendary rock axe since the 1950s—including the classic mahogany and maple body construction, glued-in mahogany neck, and dual humbucking pickups—enhanced with the versatility of a genuine Floyd Rose vibrato bridge. To make it all the more appealing for the demanding guitarist on a tight budget, the entire package is wrapped up into the Les Paul Studio format.

Gibson Shred Les Paul Studio Guitar Features

    • Mahogany body with AA Maple Top
    • Mahogany neck with rounded Studio '50s profile
    • Rosewood fingerboard and acrylic trapezoid inlays
    • Powerful 490R Humbucker in the neck and hotter 498T Humbucker in the bridge
    • Floyd-Rose vibrato tailpiece with locking nut
    • Vintage-style Gibson Deluxe Tuners
    • Case Included
The Shred Les Paul Studio with Floyd Rose starts with the classic tone wood combination of a mahogany body with a maple top. Together, these woods offer outstanding tonal depth and richness from the mahogany, with superb clarity and “snap” from the maple. The 22-fret fingerboard is crafted from Rosewood; it carries traditional acrylic trapezoid inlays, and remains unbound, in keeping with the Studio ethos.

Two of Gibson’s most popular PAF-style humbucking pickups—a 490R at the neck and 498T at the bridge, made with Alnico II and Alnico V magnets, respectively—yielding anything from deep, warm tones in the neck position to endless growl and roar in the bridge, to round and funky tones in between. Kicking it all up a notch, of course, is the Floyd Rose vibrato unit that helps to give this Studio model its name. A legendary “double-locking” vibrato system, the Floyd Rose sets the standard for high-performance tremolos, and excels at everything from dramatic dive-bombs to subtle evocative warbles, helping the guitar stay in tune amazingly well along the way, thanks in no small part to its locking nut.

Very Unique and not too heavy
What is your opinion of this product?
I was amazed at how pretty and light the Shred was. The case is VERY nice and the tremolo setup was far smoother than I had anticipated. Dive bomb... Omg yes! I noticed the action was typical gibson, right out of the box. No buzzing and a pretty solid slab all around. I only know standard tuning, so I can't say how it does with heavier and lower than 12's E. Why not 5 stars? Well, the frets were a little flat on top and the edge dressing was pretty rough. I also noticed a gap under the locking nut, which is not really tolerable imho on a +$1500 guitar. I drop ALL my new guitars at the luthier and was not surprised to be charged for a new shim under the lock nut. AMS was excellent in my options to rectify the issue, its a GIBSON fault.. period. It does sound great, and plays true. A gorgeous guitar that plays great after a touchup... Luthier assured me it will hold a low action (how i like) without issue. Time to Fall in Love with it.

The Fastest neck I can ever remember playing.
What is your opinion of this product?
I have been a "Professional" Guitarist since 1972. I have released 15 albums since 1985. I have owned literally hundreds of Guitars and have a large collection therefore I know Guitars. I received this Beauty last week and out of the box this Baby was in tune, not perfect tune but just about. The Floyd Rose is a Top of the line model and I mostly use double locking Tremolo systems. I have been practicing scales since my days at Miami Dade College in 1975 and I was able to fly across the fret board. The pickups are powerfully wound. I do love this Guitar!!!

    I love this guitar
What is your opinion of this product?
fantastic it's like it's was custom made for me . I own 21 vintage and custom shop guitars . Gibsons , fenders , martins , prs , and Taylor guitars this includes 6 now 7 les Paul's to make 22 . Never bought a guitar on line with out playing it . Well the price point at $1800 is spectacular for this guitar . It plays as well as any of my other les Paul's and that's an incrediable but true statement . The Floyd Rose setup and the color ( flame top red to orange burst ) is magnificent . Quite possibly the best guitar I ever bought . To say I'm happy with this purchase is an understatement. I'm overwhelmed !!!! Just a great guitar . Anyone who gets one is going to love it for the rest of their lives !!

    well worth the money
What is your opinion of this product?
I think the guitar is built very well everything is clean & fits nicely. I do wish they would have made the body 2" thick. The action is very good with light gage strings but to low with heavy gage strings which I prefer.
