The Gibson Les Paul Supreme takes the beautiful patterns of flame maple, which have distinguished the Gibson Les Paul Standard since the late 1950s, to the next level!
The Supreme has a stunning carved, flame maple back as well as a flame top. Multiple binding and elaborate pearl inlays make this truly the Supreme creation in the Les Paul family.
The beautiful patterns of highly figured flame maple tops became the hallmark of the Gibson Les Pauls of the late 50s. Today's Les Paul Supreme takes it to an even deeper dimension. It starts with a stunning AAAA carved maple topand back, both mounted on a chambered mahogany body and adorned in seven-ply binding on top and 3 ply binding on the back. The magnificent headstock features custom five-ply binding, an ornate earth inlay made from abalone and brass, with a pearloid Supreme banner draped across the front and a brass truss rod cover.
The Neck is crafted from a single piece of mahogany, then hand-sanded to perfection and given Gibson's traditional 50s rounded neck profile. It is topped by a dark ebony fingerboard, with gold tinted frets and Gibson's classic pearl split-block inlays. The Supreme is outfitted with gold hardware and two of Gibson's most revered pickups; a 490R Alnico II pickup for the neck, producing warm/fuller tones with a slight upper mid-range boost, and a 498T Alnico V for the bridge, wound hotter to create enhanced mid-range and high frequencies.
The theme of top-quality appointments carries over the entire instrument, making the Supreme the perfect guitar to kick off the next fifty years of the Les Paul.

| A true MASTERPIECE |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| This is probably the most well-made guitar I've ever seen up close. I've only had the guitar a couple of weeks, but so far, so good. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| Haven't had it long, but I have a 'Paul studio that I've had for over 20 years and it still works just fine, so this thing should stand up even better. |
|
| General |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| One of Gibson's finest fretted instruments...period. |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| This guitar is like a swiss army knife...it works in almost any situation. Soft and melodic, or hard and heavy, it's whatever you want it to be. |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| Not very familiar with these pickups, but when I plugged in and played them, all the tones I like in a 'Paul were there. The bridge position screams, the neck position is as smooth as silk. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| Absolutely gorgeous. If you really put it under the microscope, you can find a couple of imperfections, but that just means it was done by human hands, and I don't mind that at all. |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| Played like a dream. The bridge was a bit low for my taste, but after a minor adjustment or two, I could't be happier. I've come to expect to have to do that to any guitar I buy, so no big deal at all. |
