Gibson

The Gibson Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar is an elegant revision of a true classic, with upgrades and new features that make it the best Les Paul Standard ever produced.
Starting at the neck the Les Paul Standard now features an enlarged neck tenon for maximum wood contact, and a new asymmetrical neck profile that makes it one of the most comfortable and playable necks ever offered. Locking Grover Rotomatic tuners with an improved gear ratio of 18:1 are also a first for the Les Paul Standard. A new level of sonic clarity is achieved by new, cusom-made, gold-plated potentiometers made by Bourns.

It’s also one of the first Gibson USA models to utilize the revolutionary Plek system; a computer-controlled setup that carefully measures and dresses each fret, accurately measuring the height between the fingerboard and each string, virtually eliminating string buzz and providing unbeatable playability. A set of Gibson’s Burstbucker Pro humbuckers deliver the powerful punch expected from a Les Paul, faithfully capturing the magic of Gibson’s legendary PAF pickups of the 1950’s. A chambered mahogany body gives the 2008 Standard enhanced resonance, and a plain maple top pays homage to the iconic Les Pauls of the late 1950’s. Other new features include TonePros’ locking Nashville Tune-o-matic and stopbar tailpiece, strap lock buttons, and each one comes with Gibson USA’s standard black snakeskin case.

Great guitar out of the box!!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This product is extremely well made and there is nothing you need to do out of the box other than tuning and playing.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I just bought this guitar but in my opinion it should have not problem lasting for the life of the user.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
From the moment I took the guitar out of the box I was impressed with everything about this guitar. I love the fact that this guitar has been updated with good quality components such as the locking tuners the locking bridge and stop tail piece. The guitar neck feels great, the action was dead on and the volume and tone pots response is very accurate. The only thing is the guitar is expensive but definitely worth the money many times over. I would highly recommend this Gibson guitar to any level of player.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The guitar feels natural and it's not too heavy. The neck is very comfortable and the controls are very responsive and accurate.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The tone of the guitar is warm and punchy, the pickups are very responsive to the controls, you can have them with high gain or turn back on the knobs to get a nice crunchy tone.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action was perfect and intonation was dead on!
