The Gibson Traditonal Plus is the first model to use the revoluntioary Plek system from Gibson .A computer controlled set-up that measures and dresses each fret measuring the height between the fingerboard and each string. This will eliminate string buzz and provide ultimate playability. | It's a Gibson Ladies and Gents! |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| the quality of this item is evident as soon as you pick it up. Feels solid, finish is great. Setup/Action was good right out of the box. Gibson is know for building some of the best guitars in the business. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| I cannot really speak for mine in general b/c I have only had it 5 days now. Only one night of playing. The Les Paul however has been around since the 50's and stood the test of time better than most! |
|
| Overall |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| Overall, it's great! Plays and sounds amazing. Stunning finish and wood. Mine has a decent top on it. The flaming is good, but nothing you will see on a magazine/book cover. What I expected for a AA Grade flamed top. |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| The PLEK system is great! I have not had the time to check the setup in detail, but out of the box there's no fret buzz and action is good for me. |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| honestly, this Les Paul is brighter than I though it would be! that's not to say that it cannot get thick and chunky at all! I can turn the tone pots more to the treble side and get a really nice chime out of it. I usually associate that more with my Strat. Pleasantly surprised with it overall. I need to check the pickup higth on it though b/c one pickup sounds a little dead in my opinion. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| The finish on mine was pretty good. I read several reviews on people getting guitars with runs and other finish problems. Nothing like that here. I had the bar set pretty high for a guitar costing over $2000 and I was happy with what I got. |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| plays great! I have not had time to do a full setup on it yet b/c I got it on a Thursday night and moved all weekend. Hopefully in the next week or so, I can run over it with a fine-toothed comb and I will update my review or submit a second opinion! |
