Gibson

The Gibson Les Paul Junior Special Electric Guitar has a simplicity that appeals to punk, blues, grunge and garage rockers, yet a tonal depth that attracts the hands of refined players. Made from solid mahogany, the Les Paul Junior Special has a sonic depth and richness that remains clear and articulate. The guitar's neck is made from quarter-sawn Grade C mahogany, carved to the fast, yet comfortable SlimTaper profile, with a bound fingerboard. Gibson USA packs in a classic set of Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, along with vintage-style, white-button tuners.

For all the meat and muscle you'll ever want to muster, the Les Paul Junior Special P-90 carries a dual set of P-90 Soap bars. This single-coil pickup offers punchy yet slightly raw mids, and a girthy low end, but with smooth, slightly silky highs. All of this is packaged in an edgy, slightly gritty voice that countless players find entirely addictive.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The fit, finish, and feel of this guitar is pure Gibson. Nice setup right out of the box. The P90s are incredible. I checked it over closely when it came in and it was perfect.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Just got it so time will tell. It's a Gibson. I expect it to be around for a long time.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
P90s and the blues through a tube amp. What more could you ask for?
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Nice setup right out of the box. All Ive done is change strings (Ernie Ball Slinky fan), and I did lower the bridge just a little bit. Feels great.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The P90s take a little getting used to. You have to tweak you amp a bit. They really drive my little Bugera V5, I had to turn the gain to almost 0 to get the breakup that I wanted. It was different on the Marshall, left the settings the way they were and proceeded to wake the neighbors.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Beautiful. First guitar with a satin finish and I love it.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Very playable right out of the box. I could have left it alone and been perfectly happy, but I like to tweak my stuff and get the most out of it.
