Playability and Feel
Best Gibson Acoustic I've heard hands down!
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It is extremely well made, and great care was taken to finish this product. This is my new favorite guitar and quite possibly one of the best Gibson has made.
How has it stood up over time?
It's new so I cannot answer on reliability. I do know these come fresh and you must, must keep them humidified and watch over them as they settle in. The wood can dry quickly and cause problems if you do not take care of it. It's especially important in winter.
Your general opinion of this product.
I owned a SJ200 and it did not have the power and sweetness this guitar has. Gorgeous wood, well designed, and the SOUND! WOW!
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
This thing is a players dream! The neck is smooth, comfortable and fast. Bends are easy too. It will be your favorite guitar if you can shell out the chedda.
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The tone is mellow, and sweet. There is enough brightness without it being tinkly or tinny, and the bass is warm and rich. It is balanced and projects very well. It would be just great for stage if you could stand to let "her" outside.
How did the stain or paint job look?
Gorgeous! I could see no drips or flaws.
How was the action out of the box?
The neck is smooth and it feels awesome and buttery all the way up. Playable out of the box! The action is near perfect for me. Not so high like a lot of J200's come.
