The Hummingbird - Dreadnought beauty
The Gibson Hummingbird brought a subtle new body style and a bold new look to Gibson's dreadnought family. The Hummingbird was Gibson's first 16 inches wide dreadnought-style guitar with the extra wide upper bout, known as the square shouldered body shape. To emphasize the importance of the new model, Gibson outfitted the original Hummingbird with such eye-catching features as a cherry sunburst finish - the first on a Gibson flat-top - double parallelogram fingerboard inlays, multi-layered binding, and a modernized pickguard engraved with hummingbird and blossoms. As discriminating guitarists immediately discovered, underneath the Hummingbird's flashy ornamentation is a solid, high quality guitar.

Gibson Craftsmanship – Tradition of Excellence
Gibson's reputation as a fine guitar builder dates back to the late 1800s. Handcrafted since day one by some of the most skilled luthiers around, Gibson acoustic guitars have inspired countless players around the world. When you pick up a Gibson acoustic, you know you're getting the finest tonewoods, quality hardware, and incredible attention to detail - these instruments are built to sound great and stand the test of time. After moving from Kalamazoo, MI, to Nashville, TN (where Gibson electric guitars continue to be made), Gibson finally settled their acoustic operation in Bozeman, MT, where they continue making some of the finest guitars on the planet by hand.

All these elements add up to an instrument that sounds great out of the box, and will only improve over time. The Gibson Acoustic True Vintage series are not only great investments, but reliable companions that will continue to inspire you for years to come.

Gibson: Over 100 years of a good thing
Gibson guitars have been around for well over a century. When guitarists are looking for an outstanding combination of superb tone and playability along with great looks and gorgeous finishes, the choice for most of those 100 plus years has been Gibson. From their amazing collection of fine acoustics to the electric guitars that literally rewrote music history, Gibson guitars have been on almost every chart-topping album from artists like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cream and Led Zeppelin.

These first call instruments also cross an enormous array of diverse styles, from folk and country to blues and hard rock. With that resume, it's not surprising that so many of Gibson's best-selling instruments have changed little over the decades. Because there's just no sense in messing with a good thing!

Gibson Guitars
Gibson's designs have become true classics. The Gibson Les Paul, SG, ES-175, ES-335, Flying V, Explorer, Firebird, and Blueshawks are a testament to Gibson's wide appeal, spanning more than four decades of music styles. Gibson's close relationship with musicians is manifest in endorsement models from B.B. King, Chet Atkins, Howard Roberts, Herb Ellis, Ace Frehley, Joe Perry, Angus Young, Gary Moore and Nikki Sixx.

Today's Gibson electric guitars represent the history as well as the future of the electric guitar.

ONLY A GIBSON IS GOOD ENOUGH
A Gibson guitar creates an emotional connection to music, to culture, to life - future as well as past – that no other gift can offer. It will undoubtedly be one of the most important gifts you will ever give.

Gibson has had a reputation for the highest quality instruments for over 100 years, and the Gibson name is known and respected around the world. Gibsons are played by the most influential musicians in every genre of popular music. Gibson is the only company that has made industry-standard models in every type of fretted instrument (guitar, banjo, mandolin, etc.). A Gibson is the instrument that everyone aspires to own. Today's Gibson electric guitars represent the history as well as the future of the electric guitar.
