Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Acoustic Electric Guitar with CaseThe Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Modern Classic provides superior performance with a rosewood back, rosewood sides and an active transducer pickup.
Dreadnought beauty
In 1960 Gibson introduced its first 16 inch wide dreadnought with the extra wide upperbout, known as the square shoulder body shape. To emphasize the importance of these new models, Gibson outfitted them with elaborate ornamentation such as engraved pickguards and multi-layered binding. As discriminating guitarists immediately discovered, underneath the flashy good looks was a solid, high quality guitar.
The Songwriter Deluxe – A Modern Classic
Born of a demand for a modern performance masterpiece, the Songwriter Deluxe sports a smaller square shouldered dreadnought frame and Gibson’s unique advanced X bracing system. Further features include a premium Sitka spruce top, solid rosewood back and sides, and a comfortable mahogany neck with radiused Ebony fingerboard . The result is an elegant, player friendly instrument that really pumps out the volume. The added active electronics allow you to take that sound anywhere.
All Modern Classic guitar models feature:
- Grover Rotomatic Tuners
- Bone nut and Tusq saddle
- New Big Sky radiused fingerboard edge
- Industry's finest electronics
- Premium hardshell case
- Distinctive new labels

| I believe that the Gibson acoustic guitars are close to perfect and that AMS is the best. BUT, I also think that gibson should take a harder look at what is going out of the factory. The first had to be sent back due to a bad finish. The second one had the volume control flopping around the inside. I will get it fixed. But I should not have to mess with this sort of thing. | | Reliability:
| I am sure it will do fine. I own several gibsons and never had any problems until the last two. I feel comfortable about these little flukes because AMS takes care of its customers. If I have a problem they make it their problem and fix it. | | Overall:
| I love the voice, the feel, the looks and the great build of the guitar. I would buy another if lost or stolen. | | Playability and Feel:
| The songwriter has a great balance. Nothing awkward or any part of the design that I would change other than the volume control flopping around. | | Tone:
| Fantastic even spread. Not too dark, not too bright just clear even sound like it should. You can adjust tone at the amp or board very easy however you like it. | | Finish:
| As I stated earlier, the first one should have never left the factory. the second one, which I will keep, is very good. | | Action:
| Great action for how I play. I changed strings soon as you should with any new one. | | Skill Level:

| only had it about a year, but works perfectly. | | Overall:
| If I could give it 6 stars, i would. | | Playability and Feel:
| can't be better. | | Tone:
| Unplugged, it is loud and crystal clear, especially on the mid-low end (I'm using elixirs & d'addarios), plugged in it sounds even better. Ive gotten compliments on its tone from perfect strangers. | | Finish:
| it looks great. I love the inlays, binding, and "smashed frog" on the headstock. It has unique little subtleties that any acoustic player will love. | | Action:
| not too high, not too low. | | Skill Level:
