Gibraltar’s GCP Cajon Pedal turns your cajon into an acoustic bass drum. It’s great for lower volume playing situations where a standard drum set bass drum is too loud. This pedal is perfect for drum set players; it allows you to play traditionally with your foot righty or lefty opening more options for the drummer.

Gibraltar GCP Cajon Pedal Features:

  • Primary cable pedal allows for comfortable placement while keeping the cable out of the way
  • Spring adjustments on both primary and slave pedal keeps action and cable tension tight
  • Cam arms can be adjusted to customize the pedals feel
  • Pedal mount placement adjustment allows placing beater at various areas of the cajon for different tones and to make room for beater and hand simultaneous play

Package includes:
  • Cajon primary pedal with cable mounted slave pedal equipped with softy cajon beater
  • Cajon pedal C-clamp mount

Mounting Instructions:
Attach the pedal mount onto the cajon with the ‘T’ pedal mount on the playing side of the cajon. Then mount the slave pedal frame directly to the pedal mount and attach the cajon beater. Position the primary pedal to a comfortable playing position (good for righty or lefty) and your set to start playing.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
With the right modifications it could be dependable. Straight out of the box it's very flimsy and there are quite a few parts that could easily break while playing. The "soft beater" is very flimsy as well.
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
The best feature is the price compared to the Schlagwerk CP-100. A chain drive to pedal would be nice, a double sided felt/rubber beater, and a more secure way to mount the beater to the cajon. The plastic clamp on it is very flimsy and barely holds it in place when playing. Also this thing is VERY noisy when playing. Haven't tried oiling it down yet but I doubt it will help.
Sound
How is the tone?
I use a Schlagwerk CP-404 Black Edition Cajon with a Heck Stick and I use wire brushes. The beater included works but not very well. With an extra purchase of a felt/rubber double sided beater the tone is greatly improved and sounds a lot more pronounced than using your hand or brush.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
It's a good idea but needs some improvement. Tweaking it yourself will still put you with an overall price well under the Schlagwerk version.
Value
Was this item an overall good value?
Can't beat the price. If you have the time and a little know how you can make this product well worth the price. With such a large list of drummers who use Gibralter you'd think more quality and testing would have been put into something with their name on it.

Good Idea but NOT road worthy!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Fastener mount/clamp NOT durable & because of remote cable is not real sensitive.

Sets up to your Cajon
Sound
How is the tone?
The furry white, flat beater is not real durable so I recommend using a Cajon Beater from Morovian Builders, makers of BoxKit Cajon & BoxKit Cajon Jr.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
Could and should be produced and sold for under $100 but with more durable attachment system! Schlagwerk makes a Cajon Kick Pedal system for 3 times the $ that is made for the road (gigs) but for 3 times the price!

Was this item an overall good value?
O.K. for home/studio but not durable enough for the road!
